They really fell apart their last two games. I can't believe that their coach would up and leave before the bowl game, especially after the great season they had. I bet if they didn't lose their last regular season game and had a chance at a bigger bowl game, he probably would have stayed. So much fir sticking things through.

Sure am glad they didn't go to that BCS Championship Game that THEY THOUGHT THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN GOING TO, with that winning record and all, and embarass themselves even more so!! What's that saying, "if you can't run with the big dogs, don't get off the porch!"

Did WISHTV not think BSU was worthy of sending a crew to cover the game in person? I realize that the game turned out to be "ugly" but that was not known when decisions were made. I'm sure if IU or PU had been invited to a bowl game, the station would have seen to it to send a reporter and crew. I am a loyal channel 8 viewer but am sorely disappointed in its lack of coverage of Ball State's bowl appearance considering the close proximity of Muncie and Indy. I wish the Cards another successful year in 2009! Hold your heads up high, take ownership of your shortcomings and work hard in the offseason. Congrats on an exciting season.

I don't know many BSU fans who truly felt that the Cardinals belonged in the BCS championship race. By the same token, the only way one can improve is to play tougher competition and take your lumps along the way. Its the same old thing---the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Big name schools get most of the prime tv coverage and all the exposure and dollars that go with it to enable themselves to recruit more successfully. Mid-level conference schools fight tooth and nail to get anything. When they have a good year, why not promote themselves. Maybe after repeated bowl appearances and hopefully a few wins, things will begin to come their way. It will take a long time, but if the schools don't try to help themselves, no one else will do it for them.

Thanks, Tulsa, for allowing coach Gus to interview and come to AU. He seems like the real deal.
