Randy has a bad game and the Miners still win. I bet if Ferdette has a bad game for BYU they lose. It's a team game that is why the only name on UTEPs uniforms is UTEP. SDSU is overrated.

randy is a great player but at times he looks out of it in the court.. he doesn't sprint up the floor, he drags his feet and moves forcefully, not sure if it's just an act or what's going on, he's the best player UTEP has but this kid needs to step it up and stop worrying about looks or trying to act "cool".. Go Randy!!! Go MINERS!!! Great win tonight!

if that's the case then fredette sure as hell doesn't have many bad games. i think both sdsu and byu will make some noise in the tourney. sdsu may be a bit overrated but byu is proving that if anything, they are underrated. i will agree though that it is a good sign when randy has the type of game he had tonight and we still end up winning. probably the most balanced scoring attack we've put together this season.

I agree that Randy is a great player, but I think that Julyan Stone is our BEST player. He creates the shots for these guys, he is our leading rebounder, and he is our best defender. When he is out of the game you can tell the difference. I think that when this season is over Julyan is going to be the one playing in the NBA and the one that we miss the most.

BTW, that was one heck of an effort by Bohannon. That kid will have a bright future here if he stays level-headed and keeps up with his grades.

Sounds like the Miners have matchup problems with Tulane and maybe were a little over confident due to their record. Good teams have each others back when one member is off his mark. Nice to see them get through this close one. Tulane says it was their defense that held Culpepper down to only 10 points.

Julyan is just a straight up beast, dude does everything on the court, he's easily our best player.

And big game by Bohanon, maybe he can get out of CTFs doghouse for a while after this effort, but then again, he plays more inspired when Coach Floyd lights a fire under him.

Fire the UTEP marketing director. No reason why a 17 win team should be drawing so few fans.

UTEP's bench has a little depth and poise...with a great effort to put another in the win column! Who woulda thunk it?

Good job last night, Christian!

Great observation Amigo Man, I totally agree with you. And while we're at it, surely we can find a better game announcer than the one we got. Compared to Strelzin, this current guy is like the teacher in Wonder Years, he literally puts you to sleep with his monotone delivery.

UTEP does a fine job marketing its game; we're just too sprawled of a city for people to drive to games. Life has changed. People work all day and then drive 25-30 minutes to get home. Hard to then get back in the car abs drive to the Don. Growth does that; creates sprawl and we become more isolated.

That is no excuse. I work an hour away from home and I still go to every game!

Urban sprawl does make it harder to get to games but "growth" means you lose the small town attitude and support your University. There are hundreds of cities that would kill for a 17-4 team and a great venue like The Don.
Suck it up El Paso, 12,200 fans for every game. The Miners deserve your support.
GO MINERS!!!

This is the attitude that will fill The Don for every home game and show the support the Miners deserve.

I've been saying this for a long time. I like Jeff L. but his style is very annoying.
We should bring back the Strelz.

Close game last night to start I was very worried.. UTEP can't be giving up leads like that early on or else come CUSA tourney time/NCAA/NIT time its going to end sooner than we would like. As for the BYU crap I think SDSU could have taken BYU in San Diego. SDSU is not an over rated team. BYU will be nothing with out Jimmer next year... wait and see.
