Hawaii and Boise State played a patsy schedule, but their high-flying offenses made them the media darlings of college football. Had they played a real out-of-conference schedule, neither one would have been a BCS buster. School that schedule wimp teams are rewarded, and schools that play tough schedules are punished. Just one of many flaws in college football. 55 teams have to duke it out and go undefeated just for the mere chance for ONE of them to play in a meaningless BCS bowl game. The whole system is a travesty.

Yeah, the Sooners wish they hadn't played Boise.
Last year Boise played Washington from the Pac 10. This year they play Oregon from the Pac 10. Boise also plays a team from Conference USA this year. Hawaii's first game of the year is against Florida from the SEC. Hawaii also plays Washington St. from the Pac 10. So don't sit there and say these teams don't try to schedule good OOC opponents. It's just foolish. |
