Bears sign second-round pick Forte

The Bears today agreed to terms on a four-year contract with second-round draft pick Matt Forte.

After signing Forte the Bears are now so deep at running back, and on offense in general, that they should be a lock for the Super Bowl.

forte's already done something cedric "excedrin" benson never did -sign up to play before training camp.

granted, forte's a second-rounder, but it's probably safe to say his teammates won't hate him before they even meet him.

forte should be exciting to watch -he seems to have a good head on his shoulder, and i hear he's got a little of that thomas jones work ethic.

It's so typical of the Bears not to sign a veteran backup. Nothing against Forte, I hope he's great. But lets be honest, he has never done anything against a legitimate team. Running for 200 yards against UAB or Southern Meth is fantastic but that doesn't mean we should assume he will do it in the NFL, especailly knowing he has a fumbling problem. The fact that my season ticket prices went up and the Bears are 16 MILLION under the cap should tell you all you need to know about how the organization intends to operate.
