Knight hyped Tulane and I pointed out in BOTH rankings that go that low Tulane was horrible-not in the top 125 in either. They also had the worst or 2nd worst schedule in the NCAA so far. Tulane is now 0-3 vs the top 100 teams and probably 0-5 vs top 125.

Good win for the Miners even though expected and predicted.

There are 4 teams to hype in the Conf USA. UAB, Southern Miss, UCF and to some extent memphis is still pretty strong. Of course we are pretty good too. The rest are pretty poor.

I'm glad that you pointed this out because I feel that Bobby Knight is an awful analyst. He was a wonderful coach, obviously, except for the choking and the toilet paper. But he's awful analyzing the games and I'm glad you called him out on it.

I don't think he meant Bobby Knight, but Bill Knight. But I agree with your first sentence if you replace "Bobby" with "Bill" and "analyst" with "writer."

You beat me to it. During the post game show Teicher asked Coach Floyd why Jon Bohannon did not play. Floyd's response was because of "growing pains". I really hope Bohannon gets his <bleep> together. He's a great talent for a freshman. With a little more coaching, and some added bulk to his frame, he can become a force to be reckoned with. I know you were originally one of Tony Barbee's recruits, but don't screw up your opportunity Bohannon. You have a great coach in Tim Floyd, light years better than Barbee. Floyd can prepare you for a career in the NBA.

Floyd Better lay off Bohannon. We will take back in Dallas maybe at SMU, if he wants to transfer. Floyd is a control freak! No names on the Jerseys, no names on the scoreboard with point totals. What a CULO!

Floyd is doing a phenomenal job!

I wondered about Britten starting, but he was in his hometown, so didn't give it another thought. Good to see more, if somewhat sporadic, involvement from the bench as well.
Randy did his randy thing all over the court, and Julyan's efforts on the rebounding were just great.

I miss seeing these guys play, but the radio broadcasts can be just as exciting.

Culpepper didn't quit when he was benched. I guess you don't want any leadership - any control. Coach Floyd is in charge - he is the "BOSS". Players aren't bosses! They are players. Fans aren't bosses! They are fans. You aren't the boss! You are a complainer.

BTW - you can apply for the job if you think you are better.

I just might do that - do you know where I can get an application? I always win on PS2 when I play NCAA March Madness so I know what I'm doing.

What i tell you about the rebounding...? Rebounding and aggresive playing will win games!! UTEP did both and gee-golly, look what happened? UTEP needs to keep their focus on playing tough aggressive basketball cause it's only going to get tougher. from San Antonio TX, GO MINERS!!

Ditto!!! Has the guy ever proclaimed anything original? For him, its all about the stats and rankings. Does he realize the actual game ITSELF still has to be played and that once the ball goes in the air, all stats, records and rankings go out the window? Just ask Memphis about the RPI and its irrelevance after "lowly" SMU took it to them. He's also still patting himself on the back for his "glorious" 10 point win prediction that happened over a week ago against Tulsa. I guess I shouldn't be such a harda$$ on the guy, after all he is a Miner fan.

Were you watching the same game that we were? UTEP stunk it up on the boards. Tulane had a guy with 7, SEVEN, offensive boards. This guy was by no means a hoss. He's 6'5" and weighs 180 pounds. As a team they had 13 or 14 OFFENSIVE boards. The only reason we had near the same amount of rebounds as Tulane is because they couldn't hit the 'broad side of a barn' last night and it left plenty of opportunities for us to get some defensive boards, which by the way are much easier to snag than on the offensive end of the court. As far as aggressive goes, we were more so against UAB. Our bright spot this game was our ability to hit shots early on. We put the pressure on Tulane early by exploding to a big early lead then all we had to do, for the most part, was coast on home. As much as I love the Miners, this was not a very impressive win by any means. At the same time, I'll take W.

Again, I disagree with you saying Knight hyped Tulane. And for your sake, I hope you're not a betting man. I don't know what this obsession you have with the CBS rankings, but during conferance play...that crap pretty much goes out the window for the most part. Yesterday I pointed out Houston (173) beating UCF (17). Guess who lost yesterday? Memphis (77) to SMU at a whopping (300) in the rankings. Sure, Tulane has not beaten anybody in the top 100 but that doesn't make them horrible. As I said, I sure am glad Coach Floyd leads and coaches this team. You would have a hard time keeping them focused with your attitude.

Yes, rebounding wins games, most of the time. But as Coach Floyd has pointed, this year's team is what it is, and isn't going to be winning the battle of the boards game in and game out. He recognizes this and is coaching the team to recognize this. While still going to boards as hard as possible, he coaches the team to make up for the deficit in other ways...mainly good hard defense that forces the opponents into poor shot selections and making the most of our offensive possesions by being patient and taking high percentage shots. The players are buying it and its paying. Thats the way the rest of the season will go folks. So don't get your panties all tied up in a knot over our rebounding, defense and shot selection will be this team's staple and identity.
