I have to say, and I preface this by saying that I truly understand that rating a draft a day after it happens is extremely premature, but I am not impressed at all with what Parcells/Ireland have done. The first pick is a gimme, because any one of the top 3, Long, Long or Dorsey would have been acceptable. Philip Merling was decent pick, especially of JT is going to be traded, but if he's not, why DE? Cornerback seems to be a pressing need, yet it is completely ignored here, WR and LB as well. I'll also say this, if Chad Henne is not the starter either this year or next, THIS is a franchise killer!!!!! This will mark the FOURTH 2nd round pick on a QB in the last 6 years!!!!! A.J. Feeley, Daunte Culpepper, John Beck, and now Chad Henne. Does this bother ANYONE as much as it bothers me. Why not see if John Beck is capable with some offensive talent, including a stout offensive line, and then next year, make it a priority witha 1st round pick, and get a true franchise QB, rather than these so called "value" picks in the second round. With all the holes thise team needs to fill, just think of all the talented players they could have had at all the skill postions, WR, LB, CB, S, and what do we get? FOUR QB FAILURES!!!!!! Sickening!!!!

John Beck stinks. And he's learning a new delivery and a new playbook at age 27. The Fish need to keep drafting QB's UNTIL THEY GET IT RIGHT! The QB is the team leader...and the most important position. They botched the Brady Quinn pick last year and likely they should've taken Matt Ryan. Either way, not many teams are good without a franchise QB.

QB is the most critical skill position. Henne buys you depth. At the 3rd pick, it's decent value even if he's 2nd or 3rd string.

As for the other positions:

CB: Travis Daniels can grow. Will Allen is relatively stable. With a better defensive front line, these guys will have a better opportunity to make plays.

WR: Hagan and Ginn. Not the best, but decent upside.

LB: Again, some upside. Crowder, Ayodele, etc might excel with a better DLine (i.e. Starks). Porter is Porter and Taylor is Taylor. Old, but not critical.

S: Bell should be back. Could pick up another before the pre-season.

Basically it starts up front. Until those positions are solidified on offense and defense, it's hard to truly evaluate other positions (unless you're going solely on man-up skills).

You need to have a STARTING QB before you can add depth. Why not just say he Dolphins have added another choice at QB?

Yeah, that's basically it. Someone will end up being a starter. Unless you're a top tier QB no one is a starter at this point in the season.

I think its safe to say McClown will be the starting QB at least for the 1st half of the season....not that he's starting caliber...but...haha

Whats with taking RBs?? We need WR and LBs now. Why draft a position that is not a dire need like other positions are??

I personally think they had a nice draft although there were some needs that were ignored like CB and WR. Maybe they are hoping to wait until some players are released from other teams to see what they can get??

As for the QB situation..If you think John Beck is the answer then you are in la la land. He had a chance last year to show what he could do, and he could do nothing. You can say he didnt have decent receievers or a decent line, whatever. He couldnt even gel with Ginn. He is NOT the QB of the future. I think you should give Henne a chance and stop wishing on Beck so much...The guy sucks, and is not the answer.

Just because he was good at BYU does not mean he is going to be good here. He does not fit well in this system. Josh McCLown is not the answer either. But you know, alteast they are trying to put something together, and do not expect the team to do well this year as they have admitted that they are in a rebuilding mode. Give it time. Rome wasnt built in a day, and neither will the Miami Dolphins.

Also, what quality QBs will be available in the first round next seeason?? I would rather see them take a chance on Henne than put Beck in because he sucks. Trade him to Baltimore to be with the loser who felt he was worthy enough to draft him, Cam Cameron. Then he, and Flacco can compete with Kyle Boller.

People thought Feidler was bad, atleast that dude could play with the crappiest talent on the field and still win a ball game. Beck cant even do that...

Two RBs injured last year. Booker traded. For a team that seems like it's planning to run, run, run, the more RBs the better. Especially given the QB situation.

Not saying we don't need WRs and LBs...
