There are better players on the Texas bench than starters on other teams. We need to play more people without regard to how they're classified in school. Look at Rick Barnes. He plays players who are good and doesn't care if they're freshmen or seniors. Use the talent you have, Coach, before they transfer.

Absolutely, Mack Brown had little to lose after the
season was in the tank. Why not see what the other
backup QB's can do on the field? Can they do worse
than GG? I have a feeling that David Ash is the guy
that can deliver the goods, but at UT..he will
probably never see the light of day. At most other
major schools...bloodlines only get you so far. It
is a little thing called "talent" and a skill set
that can't be taught...you are born with it.Period!
Like always finding the open guy and delivering the
ball to him with precision while the other guys are
trying to take your head off. Winning cures every-thing. We have to turn it around in 2011, or else!

GG will have a chance to prove himself this season.
Should he not deliver (i.e., move the chains, throw
completions, reduce the interceptions), then UT
has to "triage" and get someone in there that can
move the team. Sometimes, that's hard to do. But,
the OC needs to keep GG on a "short rope" and be
prepared to keep the larger picture in mind....
win games and championships. First, you hve to stop
the bleeding. You do that by eliminating 3 and outs & giving you defense time to rest. Bottom line: I loved my pipe, but had to give it up.

Just watched the spring game and thought Case McCoy
looked the best between GG and C.W. Like I said
before...David Ash had little chance to show much.
I recommend he transfer as well as the #3 on the
depth chart. I just hope they don't go to a UT
rival....that could be problematic in the future.

GG did not do it last year!! Usually they will make some noise in their 2nd season. I think they should put somone else in. And who ever deliver against Rice should start!!! Now thats my judgement!! I'm a Longhorn until I die so if Gilbert can't stand the heat slide him out the kitchen!! Hook' EM
