Why not just let the top 8 teams play and cancel the rest of the schedules ?

It's such a waste of revenue sending these teams all over the country to play these lop-sided match ups.

Why not ? At least many of the men's games have a chance outcome. I'm sorry to offend but there are not many competetive teams in women's b-ball.

Are you kidding me? Did you watch last years NCAA championship tournament? It was one of the most exciting championship tournaments that I can remember seeing in a very long time and included some teams that many would have considered a 'lop-sided matchup'!

Anyway, I think the Lady Vols are poised to repeat as champions, not only this season but next season as well. They're all playing at the tops of their games, we always have incredible recruits, and the coaches have never been better. I think this is going to be a superbly exciting season and cannot wait to see it start.

No offense taken; for the record, I strongly disagree with reference to the level of comp. in WBB - esp. in the SEC, as well as the ACC and across the nation; parity abounds, but its ok with me if we agree to disagree on that.

I am a huge fan of the Lady Vols and i watch and listen to every game. I also really like Candace Parker, but I do have one problem. Candace Parker is not all that. In the game with Rutgers and along with other games, if it had not been for Shannon Bobbit and her 3 point shooting, the games would have been a lot closer and TN may have even lost some more. Shannon Bobbit did not receive enough credit the entire year. It was all about Candace, Candace, Candace...Candace is a wonderful player, but geesh.... give credit where it is deserved instead of the media hyping it up and trying to build up Candace more than is deserved. I saw several games where other players did more to affect the winning outcome of the game, but the media would still stand there and tell us how good Candace is, even on her off nights and when she was making mistake after mistake...

AMEN THAT,YOUR COMMENT IS EVER SO TRUE FROM THE PROS TO COLLEGE TO HIGH SCHOOL AND EVEN MIDDLE SCHOOL, IT SEEMS THEY FOCUS ON ONE PLAYER AND THE REST GET LEFT IN THE DUST. I TO AGREE CANDACE PARKER IS A VERY GOOD PLAYER AND SHE IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THE LADY VOLS. BASKET BALL PROGRAM, BUT SHE DOES NOT WIN THE GAME BY HERSELF, EVEN ON A BAD NIGHT THEY WILL WRITE MORE ABOUT HER BAD NIGHT AND STILL NOT MENTION THE OTHER LADYS THAT PLAYED AND DONE JUST AS MUCH.
ITS THE SAME IN HIGH SCHOOL, ALL WE READ IN THE OAKRIDGER WAS KEKE STEWART AND AGAIN A GOOD PLAYER BUT SHE WASN'T ON THE COURT ALONE. OLIVER SPRINGS KAYLA CHRISTOPHER I DON'T THINK ANYBODY ELSE BUT HER PLAYS FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL AND WITH MAMA COACHING ITS NOT GOING TO GET ANY BETTER. I FOR ONE GET SICK OF HEARING ONE PERSON TEAMS, "THERE IS NO I IN TEAM".

Yes it was. Those two teams and about four others are the only ones that are competetive. THAT'S MY POINT !

OK, Orange - help me out here...just how are we defining "competetive"? are you talking tournament results/advances only?

Get rid of "Lady" and make it Tennesse womens basketball. Lady is so old school look at the other teams, they don't use "lady" as part of their name.

Oh never mind. It's clearly too hard to understand and too touchy for most to discuss.

Define competetive ???

Well, Pat Summitt is gonna win all her games for sure already with the exception of what ? Two, Three, or Four...

Good God Tibbs. Woman, where the h.e.l.l have you been? These boards have lacked a sense of purpose in your absence.

No. I am serious. I missed your common sense. I missed your intelligent post and the medical advice you give when ask. Glad you are back. You sports banter is always on top of it as well.

as long as you have the Crass family in O.S pushing money in the girls basketball program nothing is going to change. Momma is a good coach no doubt, and daughter is even a better player. What else would you expect, a nationally recruited player will get big attention. Maybe a fellow OR fan jealous kortni jones isnt getting blown up. who knows?
