B-10 got owned. This was the only close one.

I think maybe the B-10 has some cause for concern.

I think that the statements concerning TCU and BSU not being able to compete in the Big 10 have been convincingly rebuffed. You know it. I know it. I read statements of how TCU would be a mediocre team at best. Let's not let what happens on the field mean anything. TCU would do just fine. So would BSU. You know it. I know it. The Big 10, really 11, so to be 12 with it's Carolina Blue logo and genius division designations that has been a fiasco, is to be kind, a clown football conference in many regards. Heck, it is neck and neck with the Big East for the bottom of BCS. You know it. I know it. Thankfully Nebraska is coming. Yep, Nebraska who limped to the finish will come in and rule. Like that is saying something. lol. You know it. I know it.

Congratulations to Wisky for making a game of it! I still could not figure out why you were trying to run out the clock down 8? I know that it is a big ten thing! I'm glad that you didn't get the chance to embarrass yourself against Boise State.

One of my favorite quotes. Accredited to many but I think Twain would be my choice. Well played Greg. You know it. I know it.

ROFL!!!!! Good stuff Captain Moderator. However your statements are false. EVERYONE reads me. EVERYONE hangs on my every word. You know it. I know it. I am THE VOICE OF TRUTH that cuts through the insane chaos that permeates the discussion. You should be thankful that I take the time to comment. Wisconsin ran the ball well particularly when it did so inside but looked too predictable at times allowing TCU to tee off on Tolzien when he was in the pocket. The Frogs were pretty quick when the Badgers tried to run outside and went underneath the blocks at times. Plus the Badger passing attack was almost entirely down the middle of the field. Getting 385 yards against a good defense is great but overall there was not much offensive ingenuity. Combine that with soft pass defense with a lot of cushion against receivers, lousy clock management at the end of the first half and leaving itself with no additional time/opportunity to get the ball back at the end of the game and you get this outcome.

Wisconsin's loss to BCS buster TCU was the appropriate ending to a disastrous bowl day for the Big 10: 0-5 while being outscored 204-102. The league answered the critics with a resounding confirmation of its inadequacy from a national perspective including failing to carry the BCS banner against a team that was not an automatic qualifier. OSU can either complete the woeful picture by losing against the Hogs or get a small piece of conference respectability back by winning-but even that will be tainted scandal.

The Big 10 may not be as bad as the ACC or Big East (yet) but it is the third or fourth best BCS conference (perhaps interchangeable with the Big 12) well behind the SEC and PAC 10. One wonders at what point OSU and Big 10 recruiting will start to suffer significantly as a result of not just the perception but also the apparent reality of league inferiority.

It was obviously a down year for the Big 10. And it is impossible not to conclude that Michigan State and some others were overrated.

The Big Ten has always been a bad conference. Back in the Woody and Bo era there were very few SEC Big Ten match ups. The "Bear" destroyed Woody in their only meeting. The BCS has exposed the Big Ten.

Penn State went undefeated in their first Big Ten season. A once proud program has now settled into the mediocre conference. In the last decade only one Big Ten team is considered nationally for a national championship run.

I have understood for a long time why the rest of the country is tired of the Big Ten. Uconn won the Big East - so what! They proved that they did not belong in the BCS, and the Fiesta Bowl ended up being the worst game in decades.

TCU does not belong on the same field with a Big Ten team.....

OSU will win, there will be too much pressure on Arkansas to be the only SEC team to lose to the big ten.

TCU plays "weak sisters". They would get thrashed against a real oppon.... Oh wait, never mind...

OSU is the best team ever..!!

I guess TCU belongs....

They said they "won this for all the little guys out there"

Guess what?- they are not little guys any more.. Either is Boise, Utah, or Fresno.. Look out in a few years for Nevada and SDSU

I think TCU was able to execute the same defensive game plan that our Buckeyes failed at.... Congrats TCU. I have a feeling the Frogs will be a force in the Big East. Nevertheless, the Big Ten received a backside whoppin' of tremendous proportions on Jan 1, 2011. I also heard that the Big Ten was thinking about changing the division names to the Skirts and Dresses. I guess it will be up to The Buckeyes to show the conference who wears the pants in the Big Ten....Go Bucks !!!

Yes, they did execute but they also had a mature team first QB who I never saw yelling at a coach or tweeting about himself or asking Herbstreit how many times he beat UM I would rather lose with Bauserman than win with a prima donna me first Pryor

So what? I mean if the Indians win a weak Central Division, does that make it any less of a success? What about the former AFC Central, which for many years was a dog? Is it any less of an achievement for Cincinnati to win just because they lose in the playoffs?

The Big-10 is basically the college AFC Central of about 10 or 15 years ago. It's not a particularly strong division, but winning it is still an achievement. The Big 10 will be back one day, just as the AFC Central (now North) is now a respectable division.
