Im a fan too, but that's just silly. Big time schools like OSU get the dirt-cheap services of (mostly) African American athletes in order to entertain us alumni (and the locals) and make big bucks off of TV -- not in that order. College football and hoops do not exist for the benefit of student athletes, no matter what anyone says. Players owe you, me and Ohio State nothing. OSU serves their interest as a farm system for the pros, and when they are able to go pro, they have every right to.I don't think I'm being selfish for wanting him to stay. I can't help feeling a little betrayed when a player in football or basketball leaves early. I live and breath Buckeye sports. I naively hope that the players reciprocate this loyalty.
I love my university, love my players, and love the tradition. When a player leaves early, it always feels like they're saying "Thanks - I've gotten what I wanted. See you later" (yeah, I'm talking to you, Koufas and Mullens).

Remember that college sports originated solely as a representation of that college/university.
I'm not an idealist, Mr. longtime. I expect Evan to turn pro. I certainly wouldn't blame him for it and would cheer him on at the next level. However, there's still room left in this world for honor, faith and loyalty - just apparently not in your world.

most people would agree with you in principle. however,(and this is a large however)young turner has a chance at financial security for himself and family, and isn't that the goal of everyone attending college regardless of race or social standing?this young man has given his all for TOSU,he has honored our U and our state as much as any man that has ever graced our beloved campus,he has been loyal .his come bake was nothing less than miraculous considering the seriousness of his injury. he has shown heart and desire every time has stepped on the court, and tales his personal generosity ,are widely known by all fans,he has conducted himself with, class and social maturity, that most parent would be proud to see in their own children.heck it would be nice to see it from most of those"Longtime Fans" whom post here. having said that . I too wish he would stay, but last night was his proud good bye,so Sean pat him on the back wish him well and remember him every time some one season wonder ships out to the Nba with out so much as thank you too our U.
