Can't understand the Uconn men's team being ranked at #2. There's a lot of people that are watching this team play with only one eye open. How do you get all excited about a big win over Stony Brook??? After seeing several other teams play on ESPN, this team is going to have a lot of surprises when the real games begin. Uconn basketball always has high expectations for their basketball teams but how the men's team reacts when the dose of reality hits them in the face will tell how their season will progress. I would rather have seen them come in under the radar.

They already beat 2 ranked teams. How many others can say that? Ranking don't matter right now anyway. You know nothing about basketball.

Read what Jacobs said. Is there anything there that's not credible? Might not Sticks just play great hoops for one semester, not go to classes, and then enter the draft? OK, so if he just wanted to go pro, he could have gone to Europe. He didn't have to lift copper; he didn't have to stay in CT. He didn't have to take out loans to return to school. So maybe Jacobs is wrong. Maybe Calhoun is wrong. Only time will tell.

I know that Jacobs isn't one of Calhoun's biggest boosters, but that doesn't mean he's out to lunch on this one. Heck, he hasn't really said that Sticks is playing the system, only that he's back playing UConn hoops and that UConn will need a strong SF to win it all. What's wrong with that?

Jeff Jacobs needs a new picture up he looks kind of creepy in this one. And he's right there is no guarantee of a happy ending, but when is there Captain Obvious?

I hate Jeff Jacobs. He is a bitter old man and starting to lose his mind with old age. All of his articles are terrible and never make sense. The Courant should ban him from writing articles about UCONN basketball ever again. He should be demoted and only allowed to write articles about Hockey.

P.S. Stanley Robinson is a better man then you will ever be Jacobs. Let me ask you this, if The Corant came to you and said that they wanted to cut your salary and wanted you to deliever the news papers for the next 5 months then you could have your job back, would you do it?

Get over it. if you are a 'biguconnfan' you know the schedule looks soft every single year for every team. Saturday is a huge test and I'm sure they'll do quite fine. I'm pretty sure everyone said the same thing last year going into the big east they almost ended up winning the reg. season title. settle down beavis and wait til saturday and once the big east gets rolling before passing judgment.

hmm? What team DOES deserve to be ranked #2 at this point? Who cares?!? It's called speculation based on talent and happens every year. Looking at pure talent (see: NBA scouts in stands) you have to put CT near the top.

Okay, so it's credible, that doesn't make it news-worthy! Especially since "playing the system" is ALLOWED by the NCAA so who cares if Sticks decides not to go to class in April? Jacob's just has a deadline on an article about Sticks so he's looking for an angle that isn't friggin' there! If he was really concerned about college players "playing the system" he should write about THAT! Where's his concern for Thabeet, Dyson, Walker, etc. or half the kids across the US doing the exact same thing? Is Sticks the only one in this category? No, but I'll bet he was asked for an article with Sticks as the main character and this is the schlock he came up with.
