DAng, I wish they would of scheduled IUPUI...I would of loved to see George Hill in the Fieldhouse. It's a shame they are right around the corner from each other but won't play. They rather play Ball St. Graves vs. Hill anyday...good for the city...good for the kids.
No, that would be good for IUPUI, which is fine of course, but to even put IUPUI's program in the same ballpark with Butler's is unrealistic. Butler plays at Hinkle and IUPUI plays in a middle school gym.

Why don't all of you who post proofread what you have written before you submit your post? It is difficult to comprehend what some of you are trying to say. We have to go back and read what you type two or three times to figure it out.

Come on, let's not get drawn into a flame war. It is readily apparent to anyone who has even a passing interest in college basketball that Butler is a very good team. IU is very good as well. Who knows maybe we'll meet in the Tournament, that would be very interesting.

(I think 3 Indiana teams will go this year: Butler, IU, and IUPUI)

"Butler plays at Hinkle and IUPUI plays in a middle school gym."

I don't think it is necessary to put down IUPUI like that, but the only way Butler and IUPUI would ever play is that Butler needed an additional home game to fill out the non-conference schedule. This is not entirely likely because with the change in rules governing early-season tournaments, a program can participate annually if they choose to. Because Butler has become a brand name, they will continue to get invitations to attractive tournaments, so needing filler games is likely unneeded.

I guess I wasnít putting them down as much as I was calling their issues to the forefront. Realistically, there are middle school gyms that are bigger. If you are too embarrassed to take your recruits to the gym, then itís probably time for an upgrade. IUPUI could have a growing program, but the school refuses to put money into it.

I have Butler ranked #9 in my pre-season poll. They should beat Michigan by 20 or more points. Gonzaga will be the real test.
No, you cannot be number nine unless you cheat. Make a few calls. I am sure this can be verified. If your cell phone has a weak signal, have an assistant patch you in via three way.

thanks because iupui cant hang w/ anyone in the state. they only beat ball state a few years back and thats not saying much. bulter would blow them out w/ iupui's run and gun and lets press all day until we are exhausted style. i agree it would be good to see them but it would be hardly worth it.
People prob didn't think Butler could beat some of those teams last year either and look what happened. IUPUI can play with any team in that league...ask Valpo..George Hill is better then any player in the confrence...Graves is only good in that "system"

You're an idiot..you haven't seen them because they haven't started playing yet. They were ranked 13th at the end of the year and return 6 out of 8 top scorers. Thats enough to get a ranking in my book.
Eric, you're a j a c k a s s for calling me an idiot. I know no one has started playing yet! My point is that since NO ONE has played a game yet, these pre season rankings mean almost nothing. Butler will play great ball and end up ranked, but so far there's nothing to base any rankings on except for last season and conjecture. Rankings mean very little. Pre-season rankings mean nothing.

Ben,

I was defending IUPUI before, but you have went off the deep end just a bit. George Hill is not even in the game area code as AJ Graves (Wooden Award Nominee) and Mike Green. I hope IUPUI wins the Summit League, but they simply don't have the horses to keep it with 25 of Butler.

What does Valpo have to do with anything? They'll finish at, or below,.500 in the Horizon League this season.

No way in hell Graves wins the Wooden award, if you follow Hill through college and high school,he has always carried the team and left his mark on the program. IUPUI is projected to win the Summit ths year and next and thats all because of him. I like Graves, but he isn't half the "talent" as George Hill.

"IUPUI is projected to win the Summit this year to win the Summit ths year"
There are about 6 high schools in Indianapolis that could win that league. The Summit rivals the futility of the MEAC.
George Hill in the same sentence as AJ Graves is a joke. AJ Graves is an All American, and no one outside of the tens of people who actually have watched an IUPUI game no who George Hill even is. I hope you win the league and get the play-in game, or if you are really lucky earn a solid 16-seed, that'd be a great accomplishment.

Hill should have never went to IUPUI, him, Graves, and Lee are the only kids out of a class that was considered one of the best in recent memory that is having success. Look at Ratliff, Angle, Vaden, Patterson...good luck Hill.
