the performance the past 2 weeks makes me wonder just who showed up in UCF jerseys at the USF game. Team looks solid, consistant, and is hitting so much better than last year. It seems that instead of looking to next year, we can (maybe) look to another conference championship game and (definitely) another bowl game. Scouts are showing up at our games and they want to know if Knight fans will travel well.
Will we?
See you Saturday

The better question is 'do UCF fans follow enough football to help their team?'. They don't make noise on 3rd downs until the announcer tells them to, thereby defeating the purpose of making play-calling difficult since the opponent is at the line by the time the crowd starts up. Also, many UCF fans are cheering and making noise and starting the wave on crucial offensive drives. Hint: you are not supposed to distract your own team. Lastly, although I saw plenty of black n gold, it's been a long time since I saw so many gator, bucs, cowboys, etc...shirts at a UCF game. Orlando may be warming up to the Knights, but you are faaaaaarrr from a solid fanbase.
I guess we'll see Saturday.

Hope to NOT see you there "whatever". Those comments are ridiculous. Sure, some fans just come to the game to have a good time, but most know their football. Try sitting in the season ticket holder section or the student section.

uh, what games are you going to or watching. Fans start the wave at every college stadium during the inappropriate time. So the fans are having fun, what's wrong with that. The announcer telling fans when it is 3rd down, listen to, watch or go to any college stadium in America, they all do it.
Try going to some games, or better yet, try going to other stadiums around the country as I have, you will see, it is the same everywhere.

I had the opportunity to travel to the Tulsa game and your comments couldnt be further from the truth. The student section was a crazed group of animals. It was a very tough place to play for the visiting team, very unlike the Citrus Bowl.
Thank you

An outsider's view, who is not a petty UF/USF fan.

Your post tells me you have NEVER been to a UCF game. BHNS is a very tough place to play for opposing teams, and the fans do their part.

Why do people just make stuff up??

It's pointless trying to argue with somebody that just wants to bash our school and our team. Therefore, my responses to "whatever" and any other person that posts on the Orlando Sentinel's website just to bash our team is simply: GO KNIGHTS!!!

People like this don't deserve a response.

Maybe the refs for the Marshall game will know what a facemask looks like.

Only 800 tickets left for the Marshall game, expected to sell out within the next two days. Better get tix now if you want 'em at face value.

I'm glad there's more than one person out there who saw Kyle's head getting mangled in the game Sunday night. I was at the game and saw first hand. And I thought, "Surely if it was a facemask they'd call it." I like to give refs the benefit of the doubt, that's a tough job! But the one picture of the Southern Miss player grabbing his mask/helmet says it all. It happened more than once. It's that home-cooking. Sure was a good stinkin' game, though.

We still need to retire O'Leary after this season. No reason to not show up for the 64-12 loss. Inexcusable.

As for the stadium not being crazy or whatever ... so what? Let the UCF fans do what they want to. If they want to mill about andtalk great.

We all don't have to foam at the mouth like idiots at a football game.

Not to mention, I don't know how you can pull someone's helmet completely off (Kevin Smith's) and not be charged with a face mask. It's one thing if it was popped off, but it was more than obvious the guy ripped it off. And then to have the play blown dead just to lose the down and not replaying it. Just lookin' out for 24k, he can't get hurt. Oh well, refs can't get everything right.

Why is the press so focused on the conference title? If UCF wins out or finishes 8-4, we still go to a bowl. Kevin ensures us a decent bowl. Our attendance numbers and the most undergrads in the nation finally will convince bowls (at least outside the West) of decent numbers traveling to the bowl. Finally winning on ESPN with no TV football competition helps, too. The C-USA championship game only gives us a chance to lose another game that could even hurt recruiting. Lastly, non-BCS bowls payout so little that it costs the athletic dept millions, regardless of whether we win the conference. Far more important to our program is the new parity statewide that opens the recruiting door wider for UCF to show off its superior facilities and undergrad educational focus.

I have to say the "wok" is better than the old citrus bowl, but it still needs some more character.
