My Dad was a big Purdue fan, he passed away in October. He an I both thought it was time for Tiller to go. Now that my Dad has passed, it is more than evident that if we can not win in games that should be wins, a change must be made. My Dad(an alumni(50)) was very irriatated with Morgan Burkes decisions and I think the University should look into his decision making and make a change along with Tiller!!! Boiler Up and MAKE A CHANGE!!!!

God Bless You Dad

Why is this so delayed?

I'm not saying this because I think he should be fired, but their last loss (which was to us) was several weeks ago.

ND went 3-9, Michigan lost to Appalachian St., USC lost to Harbaugh's Stanford, Pitt beat West Virginia...?

There is more parody in college sports than ever...why should good college coaches suffer?

How do you Purdue fans feel about this? Do you really hate Tiller?

Coach Hep sends his love...Play 13.

Joe brought back fun to Purdue football. We go to bowl games and have sold out games. We need to do a better job recruiting, fewer thugs, and more hardworkers. Hardworkers thrive in Joe's system and they overacheive like in his first years.

JOE NEEDS TO STAY!

It's the player he has on the field, not the coach.

Who is out there who might do a better job than Tiller? Several you say. That's probably what Michigan, Arkansas and several others thought. If Michigan & Arkansas are having trouble what do think Purdue can do? Be careful what you wish for.

Get real "fire Tiller" Purdue people. Your memory must be fading and you are barking up the wrong tree. You are never going to be Ohio State or Michigan, no matter who is coach. People are not going to pick Purdue over a storied program that shows up on ABC prime time week after week. So you better be thankful you have a coach that can get decent (but not stellar) players to perform above their abilities and a team concept that works in most cases. So keep Joe until he chooses to leave and then hand the reins to Brock Spack. To do otherwise would be foolish.

LOL... It's not the coach... It has everything to do with the coach... I have only been a PU fan for years, due to wife, and we have gone to games over the past years. And I have to say watching PU play is like watching a soap opera, it is the same story year after year. PU beats up on the MAC teams with Painter throwing 25 TD's in the first 4 games. Then they enter the BIG X games and they get whooped up every game with Painter throwing 2 TD's in 4 games.
I am tired of hearing Painter and Tiller say nothing is wrong, when in fact if I was Painter I would be seeing by NFL career going down the toilet since I haven't gotten any better in the 4 years I attended PU.
How many games have we seen this be the play calling... 1st Down - Run up the middle (3 yds)... 2nd Down - Bubble screen pass to Dorien (3 yds)... 3rd Down - Slant pass to Dorien (incomplete)... 4th Down - Punt....
Who calls on a 4th & 1 a bubble screen... WHAT AN IDIOT... This is the problem with Tiller, he doesn't know how to coach... The talent gets him victories againts MAC teams, but he can't compete against quality teams...
On top of that Purdue believes they can charge fans $65/ticket to see them get CREAMED by OSU... What is wrong with them... If PU played for national championships or were in the top 10 EVERY YEAR I wouldn't complain about the prices, but PU isn't that good...
The administration needs to evaluate the ENTIRE program starting with the AD and down. Firing Tiller might not fix the entire problem, but it probably would be a good start...
GL and STOP CHARGING OUTRAGEOUS PRICES for Purdue football!

Ole Joe can become a probation officer, plenty of experience with the crowd he's recruited the last several years. How many arrests v. wins have there been?

It's been said there are two kinds of coaches; those that have been fired and those that are going to be fired. It's unfortunate when coaches can have winning seasons and people still want them fired.

Tiller is now the "Gene Keady" of the football program. Good coach who brought the program out of the depths, but can't go to the next level. Mediocracy is all we will see for the future. I like others have not renewed season tickets and only when the athletic department feels the pain of loss of revenue will a change be made.

The Purdue faithful are spoiled. They don't understand that just changing coaches will not necessarily gain better bowls. Joe has run a clean program and they have made bowls in all but one year. That is a good record. There are some D-1 schools that would embrase that kind of coach.

Be happy with what you have. You may not get it again. The fortunes could turn the other way. Look what happened to IU when they let a coach go who was getting them into bowls. Until this year, how long was it with no bowls? IU wanted a coach who could take them to the next level as well. The only level they went to was the bottom.

Better think twice before switching coaches.

The point that irks me is that under Tiller Purdue just stagnated...year in year out its the same thing everyone knows it...they will play good against bad teams and will chicken out against normal/good teams ... also we just do not have aura/charm to even try to recruit good players (good players will mostly never come to bad coaches/programs). Its the same on the field...everything is just so dull against the big guns...no confidence..no risk taking..just go through the motions..finish the game..no fighting spirit...With all due respect what the old Purdue receiver is saying is what is wrong with us..we have to keep improving... 10 out of 11 bowl years is all fine...but the point is against the big teams we are nothing ...0-17 I read somewhere...the last point is coach Tiller's salary ...$ 1.7 million in total...(no one deserves this much ... even CEO's of big companies don't get this much)...3rd highest in big ten....with that much salary he better be better..at least 3rd n big ten??...I saw in that article that Jim Tressel gets somewhere like $2.2 million a year...look what he has done at OSU....no wonder the coach Tiller expects to be back next year....

What is Purdue's record against Indiana in the last 15 years 13 and 3? What do Purdue fans think it should be 15 and 0?
That is ridiculous expectations. I.U had a better football team in my opinion an in fact I think I.U. underachieved while everyone is happy at I.U..

So the Boilers didn't have a steller season. So what, every program has seasons like this. Look at ND, look at Penn State, as well as other past power houses. Love him or hate him Tiller brought Purdue back to a respectable postion in the Big 10 and College football in general. He is still under contract and from what I hear as a good group of kids coming in. I think at the very least another year should be expected. We owe him that. Besides at this stage in the game who you going to get? Changing a coach can and has cost programs years to recover, sometimes they don't and you have to go through all this again. Tiller is a good coach and served Purdue well. Don't throw him under the bus for one questionable year. Besides they are going to a Bowl game. What more do you want? Just relax it's only a game and not life and death. Go Boilers...

Purdue has gone to bowl games 10 of 11 years. Also, in those 11 years Purdue has won more than half of there games only 5 times and 2 of those were the first 2 years with another coaches recruits. Good luck in the coming years with this staff, and remember this is college football and the coach recruits the players. so if the team is weak blame the coach!!! Purdue only has coaches retire, but never terminated.

This sounds just like the IU blogs. Just replace PU with IU and Tiller with Lynch. Both programs probably have about the best coach they can buy. I don' tknow what Tiller is paid but Lynch gets $550K/year. You're not going to get a top tier coach for that.

Two words: Drew Brees. Hasn't been the same since he graduated. What we need is a quarterback with better feet and field vision. Okay, we also need some better play calling too. But I think Tiller can stay a few more years.

If there's a guy out there that fits a plan and Burke can make a reasonable argument that he would benefit the program and the University, then you can defend making a move. But change for the sake of change doesn't make sense.
In recent years, how many IU fans would walk on coals for the season (and attendance figures)a good, solid man and coach like Mallory got fired for in '96.
Tiller has given Purdue fans something they didn't have for (15) years in the 80s and mid 90s .. a reason to pay attention, care, and complain. During those years, the program simply didn't matter.
