Bass Pro Shops in Dania USED to do this as I haven't been there in a million years but it was all fine and dandy. Its how clean you keep the place that matters and if they are opening a combo restaurant/fish market, I think it is going to be a LITTLE more "upscale" than you are thinking as I don't think they will be gutting fish right there out in the open ... At Bass Pro, you could buy shrimp, scallops, whole and cleaned fish and it was really nice. Quit being such a "typical displaced New Yorker/Yenta complainer" and don't criticise it until at least you've been there once.

Pete Bonhead is a total aaa-hole. He abused his employees for years with threats and intimidation. About 12 years ago when a union movement was afoot in Ft. Lauderdale he threatened to "break the legs" of anyone who joined the union. He also fired a recently hired employee because he thought he was pro-union. Pete is a jerk who should have been run out of town years ago, all his other restaurants failed, due to his hitler-like personality, he got lucky at this location because of a bunch of old rags and tin cowboys who wanted to flaunt their puny wealth and needed a place to do it. Hey Pete, get lost and don't come back you ssscccumbaggg.

Ah, well, I've got some news for Buckhead CEO Karatassos...this is Boca Raton, genius, and the majority in this city does not cook fish at home. When the old bags 'round here "make" dinner, it usually involves a telephone and reservations.

Other seafood restaurants in this city have come and gone. If it doesn't involve either Italian, Chinese, or steak, forget it. I give the place 6 months until it's out of business.

That said, too bad Pete's closed. It was always worth a laugh to see those old, fat, bald headed New Yawkers in their black Benzes pulling out onto Glades Road with some bleach headed bimbo with fake nails in the passenger seat.
