South Carolina State College played and exciting brand of basketball in the sixties and seventies. There is no premise to South Carolina State cannot sign quality players. This year for example, Coach Betts could have taken some pressure off Zimmerman by playing the 7 foot center early in the game. The style of play was pitiful as best.
South Carolina State need to hire an alumni of SCSU for longevity purposes with creativity. State can get the players but you have to have the coaches to inspire players and put players in position to control games, not let the game clock control team.
South Carolina need to rehire Travis Williams, Gates if the new coach will have them. Maybe the style of play will be different, and yes, it's Time to get away from former Alexander style of Play. That style of play won't beat the good teams, just keep State in the game.
Last, bring in Nolan Richardson to advise the new coaches, hiring Nolan to consult would give State Credibility, just what we are lacking. It's time to get back to the type of Coaching the former coach Ed Martin had at South Carolina State University.
