Assault Charge Dropped Against USC Basketball Player

A judge said a simple assault charge against South Carolina sophomore guard Devan Downey has been dropped.

This seems to be a growing trend with individuals dropping charges against high profile individuals with obviously bad tempers. I think a new law should be passed that victims should not be able to drop warrants within the first month due to the fact that emotions are still high.

Well, for whatever reasons the accuser wanted the charges dropped, Devan needs to realize that he has too much to lose to get caught up in these kinds of situations. Especially if it's about a girl. We come a dime a dozen as the old saying says. Lol!!!!!!I'm glad it all worked out.

The "victim" waited for 2 weeks to file charges.....after people came back giving him a hard time. There was an argument, and the victim filed charges because he "felt threatened".

Back when this player was arrested it was the headline but now that the charge is dropped it is just one of many stories. This is why the media gets the bad rap it does.
