USC Men's Basketball Devan Downey Arrested

University of South Carolina police have arrested USC men's basketball star Devan Downey Monday night on charges of simple assault.

So what? This is news? We have an athlete arrested on average once per month.

I can't believe this is news.

Meanwhile the tater FB team has held up 3 area banks and sells drugs on the street corner in broad daylight.

This is not right. Being arrested for making threats??? Come on USC Police,that is minorleague. "oh, he called me a name and said he was going to hurt me". This stinks. No one should be jailed for this,unless there is a pattern of stalking or the like. What ever happened to submitting a report, investigating......and then bringing before a magistrate??? That opens up another can of worms...who was the judge who issued the arrest warrant??? What is his/her background and where did they go to school. Once again, I will say, this is minor league.

And the story continues...and yet another example of USC's desperation to win a game, and their willingness to dig to the bottom of the barrel in order to do so. Shame, really a true shame!
You know though, the former AD, Mike McGee, really could be assigned blame...he's the one who started/allowed this bottom barrel mentality to develop at USC...but, the coaches still love it, since it gets them a win now and again.

Wow, my kids have grounds to charge me for simple assault. I yelled at my wife last week, someone lock me up!! At the rate I'm going, I'll be facing the death penalty before I'm 40. I almost forgot, I yelled at two of my employees last month. Could any of this be used in court?

I know about this incident!; there is nothing to this!!! the ("others")!! involved simply have a hidden agenda!!! IE: To Tear Down USC!!! They turned him in after he ordered ammonium nitrate (used to make bombs) and they picked up the package from the post office. That kid has issues and his parents were well aware that he would make good on his threats. They were right to turn him in.
