S. Alabama secures bid with Sun Belt crown

Full story: CNN

The championship trophy fell apart in the hands of the South Alabama Jaguars. That was pretty much the only thing that went wrong for them Tuesday night.

I hate it that WKU got beat. Theyll probably be in the NIT like last season. They should be in the NCAA tourney even though they aint an automatic bid. They had too good a year to be over looked. They should be at least a 12 seed team. To me, they are a bubble team that probably wont even be considered as a tournament team. They deserve a lot of credit and should be a team in the tourney. South Alabama got lucky with a 25 point win and didnt have half the season Western had. Too bad WKU is only in the Sun Belt conference. If they were in a stronger conference, they would be a definite NCAA tournament team.

GO JAGS! South Alabama definitely showed that they are the best team in the Sun Belt Conference. After suffering a 1 point loss to Western Kentucky earlier in the year they showed how much a team can improve by completely stomping WKU on national television. Western Kentucky is definitely a good team, but they showed how overconfidence and cockiness can be your undoing, particularly when you underestimate a team as talented and as deep as South Alabama.

What about this year when they didn't do crap? Are you gonna cry? You will probably use hurricane Katrina as an excuse. Go ahead, its everybody's excuse down there right now aint it?

When you mention how deep South Alabama is, I guess you mean how deep in trouble they are in when they have to play a top 25 team. Say hello to your little friend, a 14 seed.

Joe, Joe, Joe... You shouldn't say things like that. At LEAST South Alabama is IN the NCAA tournament... Sure a 14 seed will be a tough opponent, but at least the Jags get the chance to take them on, which is more than I can say for some other teams.

You seem to forget that the last time UK played WKU they lost in Rupp arena Whne they were suppose to tkae the national title that year, and since then UK has refused a game with us. And Uof L may have stopmed us but let them play us in Diddle and see what happens insted of them being to scared to plaed in DIDDLE. You guys have to remeber that this season has been really tough on the guys not, only did they have to mourn a fellow team mate most of them were also friend with guys from the baseball team and they had another fellow topper that they were mourning for too. But Danny not being on that court tore at them everygame
