I am glad to see that others have put the "jealous little boy" from Atlanta in his place. Well done.
Re: Dyson--he is an easy target for sure. He is also UCONN's best "man to man" defender and our best shot as a "stopper" against the opponents "hot hand" at 1, 2, or 3 positions. If the refs let him play his game he can shut down a key player on the other team. We have no Ricky Moore on this team. We need a "stopper". Dyson is the best we have. Thabeet and Adrien look great on the highlights blocking shots every game. They play hard and we need them playing their "A" games to succeed. But neither is a "lock down" defender. Most of their blocks come against players they are not guarding. Like it or not Dyson also has the most explosive offensive moves on the team and needs to get involved for 10-12 points per game for this team to advance in the tournament. |

Early this season I hear a comment on how Dyson plays as eratic as Chris Smith did. I stood-up for Dyson and it bit me.
It's either a turn-over, missed layup, or him playing out of control. What a MAJOR disappointment!!!! This team played better with him suspended..........Period! |

Man, I listen to all of the UCONN fans talk about playing Duke. Are you joking? If they get out of that first weekend (and I mean if...), they will be facing UCLA. UCLA (even playing substandard) will run them off the court. UCONN will not be able to keep the score under 80-85 with their lackluster defense. And on the opposite side, UCLA's defense, specifically their guards, will force tons of turnovers. This will not be a good matchup for UCONN, and the game will likely be lopsided before halftime. Duke is another team that may bow out before the elite eight. They have no inside game whatsoever. Even as battletested as they are, they will struggle with the likes of West Virginia and particularly Xavier. Look for UCLA to come out of the West bracket. In fact, they probably have the easiest road to the final four of any of the number one seeds.

Uconn got no easy task ahead. They need to play tough and play well. The last few games they seemed to have withered away. The Providence game really hurt their momentum. It showed again in WV game. They have to play tough all the time. SD and most probably Drake will be tough competition. Uconn needs to regain that desire to win every game again. If they do, UCLA may just be a bump along the way.
GO Huskies!! |
