Nice win. What is up with Bohannon though? I wouldn't be surprised if the guy isn't here next year. He seems to be all about "me". He seems like a guy who is used to calling the shots and has a difficult time dealing with the fact that he's about number 7 or 8 on our depth chart of go to guys. If he can't buy into the system, then I'm sure he'll be told he can take his little side show elsewhere. We have a great recruit sitting out this year named Washburn who can easily fill Bohannon's empty shoes if the need should arise. Get your sh*t together Bo, cuz you could make a difference if you would just get off your ego trip.

20+ win, and there was no doubt. So much for "quality losses."

When the Miners are playing to their potential, they are tough to beat.

A little over 8,000 in the stands. Good luck filling the Don during the conference tournament. Nice win Miners, too bad I wasn't there but neither was El Paso. Pathetic!! Can't wait til you all come down and play SMU!!

Great Win! The Owls are a much better team than what they displayed out there in the Don, but again I think the Miner defense had a lot to do with it. Southern Miss seems to be the team to beat this year, UCF has lost their last two Conference games and Memphis has a whole bunch of problems.

Man, I've been in the Don and even 7,000 fans there are louder than larger crowds at some other places. Folks that don't show up are just missing a great experience. Don't know how far they'll go but this team starting to look pretty exciting.

I disagree. The Don will rock during the CUSA tournament.

I attended the CUSA hoops tournament when it was in Memphis, and opening round (game) attendance was always anemic. I bet non-Memphis U. games drew 3k to 4k attendance - ELP is bound to do a helluva lot better than that. Opening round games in Memphis drew poorly, even with Biel Street some 50 steps from the Fedex Center.

The best place for this tournament is in Dallas, Birmingham, or Memphis. All three cities have similar fan bases; DFW & B-ham are almost identical to one-another, w/a Metroplex type merging of cities. B-ham is a great city!

Agreed.

I was courtside at the UAB game; UTEP is a solid team. There was an NBA scout watching two players on UAB (nearby my section)- he likes what Floyd has done w/this team. They are a great deal more disciplined, defense minded, and less prone to errors.

My prediction is UTEP will be a well-oiled machine going into the CUSA tournament. I'd like to see them a little more physical in the paint, but Floyd rotates interior players well, and Cullpepper has developed into a quality player.

...INTO the meat locker, Bill. You might want to keep an eye those pesky pronouns--using the wrong one indicates sloppy thinking and bad writing.

agree, that bohannon guy needs to put on at least 30 lbs, he's one of the weakest players i've ever seen.. he does not have any inside moves, the only that is kind of working for him is his short jumper, other than that, he has no interior moves.. weak, weak, weak, he needs to start eating mcdonalds at least twice a day to try to gain some weight.. other than him, everyone else played great, very unselfish and smart play by everyone!

BOHANNON, not trying to put you down, just hit the gym and get stronger, also, don't look to shoot all the time, try passing the ball every once in a while..

Great win for the Miners, agreeing w/wevis1111 about Bohannon. He's not cutting it right now, he's not at all aggressive, and doesn't seem to be accurate under the paint. He has the height maybe just not the mental toughness. I'd love to see guards start mixing it up and aggressively driving to the boards, i can almost guarentee they will start drawing fouls and that means....free-throws!!
I also will be in Houston to back my MINERS next week, GO MINERS!!!!

That is "MINERBALL" !! A defense master piece ... I think Bohannon will be okay,he is the future and will be the feature player ! I blame his youth and don't forget that Caracter had the same issues and finally woke up when he came to UTEP .. under Coach Floyd and his brilliant staff, Bo stands the best chance to make the next level.. Hey Bohannon has what it takes and needs to focus, this is no time to fall apart , just look at Moultrie and his new team...GO MINERS !!

I think Bohannan should focus on defense and rebounding. He will get stronger and be more aggressive with time. Offense comes with time. If he doesnt have patience now then next season will be a disaster for him because he will be counted on more heavily. Hopefully he will listen to his coaches and is willing to grow into his role. If he doesn't he will be gone. I can't wait to see Washburn. I saw tape of him in high school and he is an aggressive above the rim player who should be scoring threat next year for UTEP. We will see if he is willing to play defense and learn.

Bo is going through an attitude adjustment...and hopefully will listen up and start playing team ball. He's got the coaching staff to do it. Fortunately its Floyd and not Barbee, this team just ran all over Barbee last year, thats why Moultrie left. Anyway, don't be too harsh on Bohannon's overall play. I think some of you are expecting too much out of him. He's one year out of high school, and he was not a 4 or 5 star player. I remember seeing a big long 6'11" freshman that could run like a gazelle but couldn't shoot or rebound to save his life his first year. And I think Bohanno's game at this point is ahead of where this guy was as a freshman. The name? Antonio Davis. Ring a bell?

Bo is the future. From the start of the season I saw the potential in him. He's young and needs to learn a lot. If he beleives in himself and the coaching staff... whatch out. Just look at Stone, perhaps one of the smartest players in the nation, all because he listens and learns.

He 'needs' to be going thru an attitude adjustment but I don't think the adjustment is being made. I think the kid has potential but whether or not he taps into it has everything to do with his attitude and willingness to buy into Floyd's system. There have been problems with him from the start, and although they've been relatively minor up to this point, who knows how much Floyd is willing to put up with? Remember, he is not a recruit of Floyd's.
Don't get me wrong, like I said, there is a lot of upside to Bo's game. At times he is crafty and has a knack for making the extra pass. For example, the dish off to McCulley last night was brilliant. Its more of the attitude that has me feeling like I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't here next year. I hope he gets it figured out.
As far as being on par with Davis, that does put things in perspective. Davis averaged about a rebound and a half, along with a point a game his freshman year. Good point.
