Full story: Columbus Dispatch

With Ohio State halfway through spring practice, coach Jim Tressel said he has no clear pecking order at quarterback in the race to replace Terrelle Pryor for the season's first five games.

"sometimes we have to do what we think will help a young person learn"quote from tressel. How about starting with pryor? These quarterbacks are not fighting for a position for "5" games-they are fighting for the starting position for the season.

little wonder you're not a writer. nobody wants to read the same "news" over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and (see?)

From what I hear Braxton Miller is the real deal & should start all 13 games, including a win in a BCS bowl game. Then, Terrell Pryor will know how Todd Boekmann felt.

Interesting article. Believe it was meant to fill up some space for we football junkies.

One intersting sentence:
Did you know that: Pryor, was one of five players suspended for the first five games? Even my old dog Fresca knows that now.

I wish to thank old GATOR GARY BOY for filling in for me while I was gone. He, in a way is very amusing. Writes the same stuff over and over and believes we're so dumb we don't know that things go on behind closed doors. The difference is we don't condone them.

Oh, Gary Boy, by the way just what is going on down in Florida and some of your players. Also your glorious SEC? Did a coach raid the jails for players again?

I would like to see Tressle bring George Whitfield Jr. to Ohio State to work with our quarterbacks. George established a business in California specializing in quarterback training. George is from Massillon Ohio and was recruited by Tressel and went to Youngstown for one year but had to sit on the bench. George then transferred to Tiffin where he was an outstanding quarterback breaking many of their records.

George later coached NFL standouts Bob Sanders, Dallas Clark, Nate Kaeding, Ladell Betts, Robert Gallery, Eric Steinbach and Aaron Kampman. Former collegiate standout and Cincinnati Bengals first round draft pick Akili Smith looked to Whitfield to help revitalize his slumping career.

Whitfield's credentials includes working with the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise quarterback,'Big Ben' Roethlisberger, during his NFL Mandated 4 game suspension at the beginning of the 2010 season. In 2011, Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Cam Newton began working with George in preparation for the NFL Draft.

George's uncle was David Whitfield, captain of Ohio State's football team under Woody in 1969. It seems to me he has the Ohio State connection (Massillon and uncle David)+ and he has the experience that we need. I think his experience would attract some of the great high school quarterbacks! I knew George's father, George Sr., when I was a teacher and coach at Massillon many many years ago. The Whitfields come from a family of great athletes and really good people!

George is working with Shane Dillon a pro style QB from El Cajon, California who is currently interested in Ohio State. OHio State has offered him a scholarship. He is a tall skinny kid who has outstanding footwork and great arm.

I agree with you but it AIN'T gonna happen. Head coaches have egos. Don't want competition from with in the ranks either.

DUDE... Well here is what is going down here in Florida. Went to the Spring Football Game, the weather was a sunny 80 degrees and the Gator Girls were looking as fit and trim as ever, not like the Buckeye Girls that look like they just got done grazing. Defense looked great . Offense was OK at best. Yes, we have some players on our team that have been in jail. So what is wrong with giving a young disadvantaged man a second chance? Yes and no offense but I would not call Buckeye Fans, dumb, I would use the term naive and gullible. Buckeye Fan needs to open up his eyes and see that his glorious Buckeyes, cheat and are as unethical as any SEC team. Your coach Tressell has pulled the wool over your eyes since he has been at OSU, but you just do not want to see it. But soon, the NCAA will be investaging the Buckeyes and Fla having jailed players on our team will look very minor to what OSU has been doing. Nobody likes LIERS and Tressell LIED and he got caught.

AAhh GARY BOY, danced around the subject again didn't you I Didn't say it didn't or wasn't happening. SAID; WE DON'T CONDONE IT. Of couse it's ok with me if you do, it's your Florida and your SEC. I under stand the difference between lying and not getting caught and lying and getting caught. They are both despicable unless your're an SEC fan.

Picking on our LADIES again??? MY, MY Your education is showing again. I don't remember them being in our conversation. Do you think that was polite of you? Gentlemen don't make fun of other people's ladies. I don't bring up the subject of dried shoe leather in a year or so did I? Don't worry tho, I won't bring it into this conversation either.

Oh, by the way, THANK YOU FOR FEELING IN FOR ME. Always good to get your repeated opinion.

DUDE... I must admit that OSU has a lot of dedicated fans. I see them all the time down here in St. Pete Beach at the bars cheering on their Buckeyes, which is great. The only problem that I have with Buckeye Fan is their arrogance. They always brag on how clean their program is. How ethical Tressell is! Then they bad mouth the SEC and the Gators. They always use the excuse that the SEC cheats and that is why they always lose to the SEC teams. I have always maintained that OSU cheated. You have to cheat to get great players and OSU always has some great players. No offense, but you got to pay players extra to have to live in Ohio when these great players can come down to sunny Florida or Sunny USC. After the NCAA gets done with their investigation of your program you
are not going to be happy. Rmemeber the SEC Motto: If you do not CHEAT you can not COMPETE! Seriously though, the Ohio girls should shed some pounds for the summer!

Where is the "original" Gator Gary? If the guy posting under his name knows, please tell us. Some of us have come to appreciate the interaction with Gator boy and I'm wondering what's really up with his absence.

I can't believe Tressel still hasn't decided on the next OSU sponsored tattoo parlor for this year's team.

a 58 year old (That's how old he said he was) bad mouth any ladies that has done no harm to him. Since he has nothing else to do I guess he may spend a lot of time on the beach drinking out of a paper sack and oogling young girls.
Yes, he has changed. Not the Gator Boy we knew.
It's odd, he likes to look at the funnies in a paper over 1000 miles from him and from those funnies draw his conclusions.
Maybe he really would like to be one of us and doesn't know how to join in. Or is it he is aware of what's coming up for the great and late SEC and can't handle it. I am aware of one thing tho. What ever the NCAA hands out to us we'll handle it like men. Oh well, what ever, he was fun for awhile. Maybe I jabbed him to hard even in fun. But then, maybe he deserved it. I STILL DO NOT CONDONE LYING,STEALING OR CHEATING.
Rest In Peace Gator Boy.

Possibly to much rot gut has taken its toll on him. Why else would a 58 year old (That's how old he said he was) bad mouth any ladies that has done no harm to him. Since he has nothing else to do I guess he may spend a lot of time on the beach drinking out of a paper sack and oogling young girls.
