"That's pretty impressive for an 84-year-old who just a year ago was rumored to be in the middle of a major health crisis and on the verge of retirement."
Rumors are just that. Plus, they're usually BS.
I especially love this tidbit: "Paterno still doesn't hit the road to visit recruits like other head coaches. And he's stopped making his "Evening With Joe" appearances, although the value of those events had dwindled recently, anyway."
SO WHY DID YOU WRITERS MAKE SO MUCH OF THIS LAST YEAR???!!!
Mr. Paterno is about half my age and I ain't walking six blocks a day! He's got a better chance of reading my obit than I do his!
I hope he outlives all the d-bags who make a living writing crap about him. He's certainly reached a higher level in HIS profession than most of those writers have in THEIRS! And STAYED there!
Thanks, Steve. See, one CAN write a positive story about PS football and JoePa and not burst into a ball of fire.
God love ya, Joe! Because when you're gone there won't be another one like ya!
