IU needs to take care of business and blow PSU out. 5-0 to start the Big 10 sounds like a winner.

Go IU.

Am I the only one who thinks that its strange that Stemler is always the player who has a quote on a pre-game article?

I don't think it is strange! Stemler is a senior and team captain so he should be the one making comments for his team.

A great team excels in a situation like this.
A good team has a close game or loses.

We'll see what kind of team I.U. is today.

It would be nice if only we could SEE the game w/o the Big Ten Network involved.

The days of Channel 4 and Farm Bureau Insurance with the Fat lady singing the fight song while pushing the broom are over. Just great memorys for those who grew up in the 70's.

Close calls builds character. Big Ten seems to be promoting it's top teams (Wisc., Mich. ST., I.U.), 2 loses may win the Big Ten this year. This I.U. team is showing the ability to win in adverse conditions and they seem to be able to step up at the right time. Defense is the key. Go Hoosiers.

Thanks to comcast and the big ten network for the great line-up of college ball today. Two West coast mens and a bunch of ladies, yawn. Sure to make any basketball fan happy. Greedy bastards.

I think IU must and will blow out Penn St. at home today! IU needs a blowout to show they are a legit top 10 team! Also, Gordon needs a big game to show that his is the #1 freshman. All the other freshman played poorly yesterday besides Beasley, so EJ can set himself apart, if he wants. Lets hope the refs leave Eric alone today!

ATT U-Verse is the way to go - Keep checking their website to see if it is available at your house. No dish required (fiberoptic lines) and you get a lot more for the price of basic cable. It was a very happy phone call I made to Brighthouse Cable to tell them I was cancelling. Although I hate what the Big 10 is doing (private network + publicly funded universities = wrong), cable companies are not providing anywhere near the value for money as dish, directv, or the new U-Verse option.

So I assume it is on the BTN. No mention of time, radio,or TV listings. Terry, were you up late last night or the Star does not want you to list other mediums in their newspaper? Guess I will go to ESPN.com to find start time.
Also could not find a mention of the NCAA basketball record that was set last night in the Star.
I thought NCAA basketball records had interest in the Midwest.
The record for most overtime wins on the road in a single season was set by Lafayette College last night when they beat Navy at Navy. That was the 5th overtime win this season for Lafayette College {located in Easton, PA...not Lafayette, IN}
Lafayette College was the 1st team Calvin coached against as the IU coach.

You can thank the Big 10/11's ADs and University Presidents for allowing the conference office to negotiate this money-grabbing TV coverage arrangement.

They are only interested in their cut of additional TV revenue from higher premium paying watchers.

Greed is a proper explanation. Boycotting is a proper strategy.

This is a must BLOWOUT win for IU. Sounds silly, but I definitely agree with the statement that IU needs to put the hammer down on Penn State. The Hoosiers need a laugher and so do the fans.

Too many close calls to start the Big Ten season and IU needs to prove that it is a dominant Big Ten team with a resounding victory.

This is a good opportunity for AJ to get a lot of minutes and get back in the flow. EJ needs to find his stroke again after looking very average the last two games.

Go Hoosiers!

You nailed it. Indiana residents bought and paid for the state schools and now the athletic departments hold them hostage when the product becomes valuable. The height of hypocrisy.

Have a good laugh then the team takes the court and Chuck says "Your Indiana Hoooooosieerrrrsss". He's not talking to us. The team belongs to the athletic department and the high rollers. John Mellenkamp owns it.

I totally agree with all the comments about the BTN. IU Dad brought back great memories with the mention of the 70's broadcasts on WTTV... even if you had to put up with Chuck Marlowe!!!
When I've had the chance to see IU play, I am a little concerned by the lack of offensive sets and/or the ability to move the ball around for a good shot. When we play teams later on that have the same talent or more talent than we do and they do play agressive defense and have good offensive sets, we are going to be in trouble unless our team can develop that. I've seen a lot of individual play. In fact, the ball movement was actually the best in the last four minutes of the first half in the Minnesota game when we had mostly the bench out there. Just a thought and a hope as IU goes on through the BT and the tournament in March. Enjoy those west coast games on tv everyone!!!

Teams that have a great second half of the season often do well in the NCAA, well this is the start of the second half of the season--do your best.
