Welcome back to Minnesota to Coach Haskins and the players, thanks for the great memories. I will never forget them.

This years team has some work to do to reach such heights. They are off to a good first step, in beating Penn St.. Although I'd much rather see 3 players score 10 points each than see 1 player score 30 points. Nonetheless a win is a win. The Big Ten is a tough conference to get a winning streak going. But if this team hopes to assure themselves a ticket to the big dance, they must work hard at it, one game at a time.

They will need to win 10 more games against big Ten teams to assure themselves a ticket, to the Big Dance. That means they will have to upset a 'higher ranked team' in the Barn at least two maybe 3 times. Such as Ohio St, Jan. 9th, Northwestern Jan. 26th., and or Wisconsin Feb. 18th, to make the trip to the dance. They will also have to beat Iowa twice, Michigan twice, Indiana twice, Penn St. again and Illinois at Ill,.,. That will give them the neccessary numbers of 21 and 9 to recieve the invatation to the NCAA Dance.

One game at a time 'all out, one for all, and all for one'. No more distractions.

The 89-90 team would kill this collection. The Gophers look like a 9-9 team and NIT material

I believe Willie Burton has the all time scoring record (53 pts) for the Philadelphia Spectrum (which was replaced shortly after the feat.)
Whatever happened to finding players like Ariel McDonald & Voshon Lenard? Clem could recruit big time.

Voshon was part of the academic scandal...they don't need players like that.

Wrongo... that chick who died a few years later was the entire academic scandal. Clem's biggest mistake was lack of oversight.

Yes, one lone chick was the biggest academic scandal in the history of NCAA basketball. Sure, you betcha.

She didn't come up with the idea herself. The entire athletic department is serviced by one academic center that is overseen by the head of that department. Clem set up his own academic staff (Alonzo Newby) which had zero insight from the head of the Gophers academic department. In 1998, Clem Haskins even gave Ganglehoff 3,000 dollars out of his own pocket.

The NCAA found "the violations were 'significant, widespread and intentional'."

That's not the work of one "chick".
