Jon Diebler saved his only points of the game for when it mattered most. The junior guard's three-point field goal with 1:28 left ended a Penn State rally that had cut Ohio State's lead to three points and preserved a 75-62 victory for the Buckeyes men's basketball team tonight in Value City Arena.

It is about time Diebler showed why he is Ohio's all time scorer. He has not shown ability to match that hype to date. His opponents must have been terrible.

Just last night we were talking how Diebler does not hit the three when the game is on the line. Will someone please pass me the salt?

Diebler had one field goal? One? And he is the state's all time high school scoring leader? What happened? With a guy's like Turner and Buford you would think it would open up scoring opportunities for Diebler. If he doesn't step up or if Matta can't figure out how to get Diebler to score this team isn't going far in the tournament.

I am not trying to jump on the Diebler bandwagon, but obviously this guy is a terrific scorer. he played great competition in high school and faced every "junk" defense imaginable. The problem, as I see it, is that Lauterdale is the ONLY person who sets screens for shooters. Lighty rarely will pass to a person in position to shoot. He is too busy trying to create for himself, with mixed results, I might add.
When Diebler puts the ball on the floor he will dish to the open man, almost to a fault. Many times it appears that Lighty makes up his mind that he is going to shoot, no matter what, and he isn't a great scorer. Just my opinion...

While Diebler has had his scoring droughts this season, he is one of the best in the country when he is hot. Also, he is one of the most unselfish players I have ever seen. I do hope that he does score a whole lot more-they are going to need it, especially if Turner and Buford are having "off" nights. And I agree with gymers and his comments about Lighty.

Who cares who scores the points, as long as we get the win? Diebler may have only had 3 but it was a big 3 that closed the game for us. Turner was himself again, putting up huge numbers, most of which carried the team in the last 10 minutes of the game.

I think all the Buckeyes are playing to the best of their abilities and opportunties this year. This is a VERY likable team and we are lucky to have them. They've been in every game so far this year except one and they avenged that loss. I enjoy watching every game. Thanks Buckeyes!

Diebler is garbage. He can't take anyone off the dribble. He also can't stay in front of anyone on defense to save his life. If Turner and Buford comes back next year, Diebler is coming off the bench. I'm sick of hearing about how many points he scored in high school. His high school scoring against sub-par players is not translating to Big Ten basketball. He should have went to a MAC school. It's time to take the blinders off guys!
