And neither have you! Now take those $1000 and get your tubes tied so you can't breed!

Yes, they booed him because he's white. Now put your tin foil hat back on.

Congrats to the Beavers (classy team classy coach) on a great win in a great enviroment for college basketball. To the Miners we are very proud of you. The future is definatly bright for both teams. To the Beaver fans that were upset about the booing during the game "get over it" it didn't bother RUUUUUUU so it shouldn't bother you. As for booing him when he received the MVP trophy (well deserved honor), I am with you on that one it was terrible. Please remember it would happen at any place arena including yours. There is no doubt in my mind both these teams will be in a different tournament next year and I don't mean the CIT.

More than most arenas in the country, I want to visit the Don. I'm just sorry I couldn't this year. No one can change college basketball like DH did - and there's no one who respected Don Haskins more than OSU's Ralph Miller.
Always in our hearts, Miners. What a great series.

What a great series. Of course it would have been better if UTEP won, but this is why college basketball is so much fun. UTEP basketball has an excellent future ahead.

OSU basketball is going to be huge the next few years. Top 25 recruiting class, skilled coach, and lots of returning kids. Keep an eye on them in the PAC-10 next year.

Teresa - Why do i think you're EP Times' Joe Muench in a dress trying to get hits on the website?

KKK - really? Go ask your mommy to bring down another juice box to your basement lair/bedroom and cool off. Take your crayon box to another forum or spend your time coloring in your family twig.

Miners - great season. Can't wait till next year.

We weren't booing because he's white you friggin idiot, we were booing because in game two he was waving his arms around and trying to hit our players when he was being guarded, save the race card for something else you close minded nitwit.

Thanks for the game Miners... A win is only sweet when it's against a tough opponent. Plus, I'll have to admit the Beavers got their share of lucky bounces - there were a series of offensive rebounds late in the 2nd half where the ball kept bouncing the right way for them. And they shot about as good as they ever have... which is something that just happens when it's your night. The Beavers had such a horrible season last year, that we're just totally ecstatic about this in Oregon.
Good luck to the Miners next year and beyond. I was really impressed by the level of support the fans and the school show to your team. That's something we're learning (quickly) how to do again here.(Maybe the Beavers will actually get a practice facility????)
Also please ignore people like phxBeaver - not classy at all. Schaftenaar himself was having fun with the booing, and I think saw it as an odd sign of respect for tough play... He's usually 'too demure' in games, and really nice guy; the role of villain is something brand new.
Well atleast your a good sport, ill give you that. If Shaftenaar wasn't so sensitive about being close guarded in the second then maybe we would have never booed. The Beavers played really good, and our Miners unfortunately were playing badly at the second half when Barbee took away the 3-2 zone and put everyone man to man. Well anyways, anybody that is talking S**t about our record and the CBI invitation are clearly bandwagon fans that show up only for big event games. Im very disappointed in the nasty things fellow El Pasoan's are saying about our CBI invitation and our coach. This is EXACTLY why we don't get good recruits because of idiot fans that start opening their mouths and bitch constantly (they sound like KENTUCKY fans). Barbee did a solid job this season and we did a heck of a job with only one senior!!!! I am very excited on the potential for this team next year!

You say 23-13 is decent, but the reality is the Miners didn't break 20 wins in regular season, and that is just short of pathetic. If the team's object is getting into the second tier NIT, which would be a big step up for UTEP from the CB(choke)I, then winning more than 20 games would be a necessity.
As for why the Lobos made the NIT, they played in a tougher conference top to bottom. The Lobos went 10-2 to finish the regular season, the Miners went something like 7-5.
One other major reason the Lobos made the NIT was fan attendance. While the Miners would be lucky to have 7,000 in attendance on average, the Lobos easily drew 5,000 more fans each game. Why is that?
Off hand, I'd say the Miners weren't good enough to get even an NIT look and they didn't have the support of their fair weather fans. Such is the life of a mediocre mid major like UTEP.
still a little pissed off that we beat your ass in your own stadium huh? LOL BYE HATER!!!:)

Oregon fans are the best, and they are respectful too. I'm from El Paso and a UTEP graduate, and a big Miner fan but also love my Beaver friends

I was disappointed in the Miners hussle or lack or during game three. It is hard to believe a team shooting as well as OSU did Friday night visiting The Don, but the days of leaving El Paso with scratches on your arms from the tenacious defense has ended.

I hope the extra games pay dividends next year, but the Miners do need to learn to finish strong.

Are you nuts?!? It was all about the foul on Culpepper in the 1st half of the second game. You might have missed that there was an almost look alike white player (they all look the same Martha) for OSU that didn't get boo'd.

OSU: you played far above your record. Congrats!

I wish Barbee was as good a game coach.

Devoted Miner,

Look up the terms "sarcasm" and "tinfoil hat" before you start pompously correcting someone who is making the same point as you.

You're the kind of El Pasoan, who never grasped the nuances of the English language that gives us all a bad name.

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Taurus

This is a day for turning your attention to your finances, especially if you're currently working on the budget for domestic improvements or changes. Talk to the other people concerned and really listen to what they're saying. They'll have some great insights. It will be far more productive to work as a harmonious team rather than as warring factions.
