Think about it. With limited resources, coach Kill put together a team that embarrassed our current Golden Gopher squad. The Gophers have a football budget of about 9 million. Northern Illinois spends a fraction of that. Considering the disparity, I'm sure Coach Kill will have better results than his predecessor. Another thing to consider. The top teams in the conference spend money to get there. Ohio State(32 million), Iowa(27 million), Wisconsin(23 million), Penn State (19 million), Michigan (18 million). Get the picture? Signing a sexy name won't help the Gophers win. But investing in the program will.

Minnesota is lucky to get Kill. He did a terrific job at NIU. The first year was awful because the program had really taken some hits. Then he got things going.

He put a phenomenal team (for the MAC) on the field. The players loved him. The other coaches respected him. His staff is outstanding.

Minnesota is real, real lucky. Congratulations. You guys are going to do very well.

It is easier to look at the bad side of things than it is to look at the good. I wonder if the negative people post more, or, if the majority of gopher fans are actually negative. It is interesting that Shooter gets "killed" for this article. Go Cubs!!!

Those numbers aren't the same. Iowa for example includes the money it spends to maintain its football stadium in its budget. Minnesota does not.

Minnesota is 7th in the Big Ten in football budget with the second smallest stadium. They spend more than enough to win.

Marquies Gray, Dajon Mcknight, a win over Iowa, 3 wins over bowl teams, 9 of 11 defensive starters back, Florida transfer Brandon Beal now eligible, six talented offensive linemen who are now redshirt freshmen/sophomores
