Five are dead including the shooter in a St. Valentine's Day mass murder on the campus of Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Ilinois.

One witnesses described the shooter as a, "skinny white guy with a stocking cap" who police say later committed suicide. Witnesses also say he was dressed in all black and didn't say anything before opening fire with a shotgun.

This is sickening. What's becoming of our country when it's not safe for young people to go to school. Very sad and disturbing. My prayers go out to the family and friends of the victims. God help us all.

Ban all guns and ammo, except for police and military. Or, you will have many more innocent people killed. Your choice.

The only way to control these kinds of incidents is to lock up threatening people for very long periods of time. We have way too many highly disturbed people walking our streets. In nearby Rockford there are shootings, robberies, drug deals on street corners, muggings constantly. We need a military surge into Rockford just like we did into Iraq.

The responsible parties are the media sources that visually depict horrific killing scenes. Movies, video games, and the news all play to this. We put violent imagery into the public domain via the media and the deranged in society emulate what they see.
The argument about sensor ship will pop up and you can point to these school murders as to reasons why we need to watch what we show in the public domain.
We are all responsible when some sick person goes off like this. Let media peddlers of all kinds look very closely at these killings to see their own involvement.

VIDEO GAMES ARE TO BLAME FOR THIS

IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD KIDS WHO PLAYED MADDEN

STARTED TO BREED PIT BULLS AND FIGHT THEM FOR LARGE AMOUNTS OF CASH, BECAUSE THEY PLAYED A VIDEO GAME WITH MIKE VICK IN IT.

YUP FOLKS, IF YOU ASK THIS HONEST TAX PAYER, ITS VIDEO GAMES LIKE MADDEN THAT IS TURNING OUR YOUTH INTO LUNATIC SHOOTERS.

NOT GARBAGE UNFIT PARENTS, WHO DO NOT EVEN KNOW HOW TO EXERCISE SELF CONTROL THEMSELVES LET ALONE IMPART IT TO ANY OFFSPRING THEY MIGHT PRODUCE.

NO ITS NOT THE PARENTS

Another shooting in a supposed "gun-free zone" in one of the jurisdictions with the toughest gun control in the nation. All this has shown, again, is that gun free zones are just killing zones for criminals.
The simple fact is that ALL of these shootings occurred in "gun-free zones" because the shooters know that no one will be there to stop them because leftists like Greg have disarmed anyone who could help. The cops were there again, to draw the chalk outlines, just like always. So learn to protect yourself and your family, or be prepared to be another statistic. Greg votes to make you a statistic.

There is no way that school (and most Illinois schools) would want armed security guards on campus before this but many more of these incidents and they will be demanding them.

UIC has and had armed campus police on campus, plus chicago police were readily available. we need to provide more security for our students. less pay to the administration and use the extra money for police/security/metal detectors.

Agreed, but we need more then police though we need a heightened armed security force~~no one wants it but it is necessary.

What we are seeing is "copy cat" killings since Columbine. An unfortunate cultural phenomena.

funny.

it's very interesting how the NIU shooter's entire race wasn't attacked because of this crime he solely committed. but when a black person commits a crime, all of them are linked as being the same.

let me guess, the ones in denial will say let's think of the families who lost loved ones and not bring up the racial issues. so typical.

it's sad that innocent people were killed because some crazed student forgot to take his meds.
