wolves have many contracts that are ending.
could do a sign and trade for davd lee and or nate robbinson.
lee and a first round with hughs would be better.
rubio rights with three or four wolves for this to work.
would give wolves the extra sg they need this season and free up a roster spot or two.

May be better to get picks from teams that have extra.

miami has their own and rights to protected toronto first.
they have also been looking into moving beasley.

okc has their own and the unprotected sun first next year.
thunder may want to keep though.

new jersey has theirs, dallas's and 2011 protected golden st picks.
they could also maybe do a devin harris sign and trade with a pick.
rockies rubio, williams and second year lopez would make a nice start for a rebuilding nets.

that leaves LA clippers...
they have their own pickand also own rights to a portected t-wolves first.
would be nice to wipe that off the books.

mr kahn, lots that can be done to make wolves better now or in the future without rubio.

rookies, not rockies.
thornton, griffin and rubio could turn the clippers into winners.

Take back a contract? The Knicks don't have anything that would remotely appeal to the Timberwolves in exchange for Rubio, and here we have the brilliant Presspatch staff suggesting that David Lee and Nate Robinson are desirable but the *Knicks* would object??

Hilariously bad reporting, there.

d mcclay -- The wolves have to want to make a trade. There has to be something remotely approaching equivalent value on the other end. Does any of this ring a bell for you?

It's bizarre to see you suggesting things like a deal with the Nets, based on how nice that would be for New Jersey....Leaving alone the Knicks. New York has nothing, nothing Minnesota would want.

two firsts may be the most wolves can get.
rubio could stay in europe more than the two years and the wolves could have squat.

Pretty sure the Timberwolves will not be selling this year as Ricky's stock will continue to rise whether he plays in Minny or in Spain. There is no reason they would trade him this year. Maybe in 3 years, but I figure we can put a team together by the time he is to ship off. Otherwise, if the wolves still stink than I could see taking the picks.

as far as foye being gone we'll miss his clanging off the rim and the only thing miller was interested in was his mouth guard and hair

People forget Fagen was Yi Jianlian's agent. He steadfastly said Yi would NOT play in Milwaukee. He did, albeit terribly. He was eventually shipped off, but Milwaukee got fair value for him in Richard Jefferson.

Yi has done even less for New Jersey.

Moral: This agent likes to try to own the leverage with his international clients. NBA teams are eager to show him they hold less cards than they think.
