Cavs offed by offense

Full story: Akron Beacon Journal

NEW ORLEANS: In case their big win in Dallas on Thursday night puffed their chests a tad, the Cavaliers got a reminder Saturday that they are still a work in progress.

Hey, what do you want! It's Cavs "Take a Night off" night. On those nights the team decides to play at a scrimmmage pace instead of a normal slow pace. What do you want? They already had 1 road win this trip?

''I wonder why we are flat coming out in the third quarters. That is something that in the past and tonight has hurt us.''

Sometimes it was downright laughable. Twice Brown called timeouts to stop the run and both times the Cavs emerged from the huddle and turned the ball over.

THAT ABOUT SUMS IT UP! HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE SEEN THAT HAPPEN NOW? DO DANNY AND DAN WATCH THE GAMES, DO THEY REALIZE THAT MIKE BROWN IS UNABLE TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS DURING A GAME (ESPECIALLY AT HALFTIME), DO THEY SEE THAT HE IS UNABLE T0 DESIGN PLAYS TO STOP RUNS OR GET A BUCKET IN A CRITICAL SITUATION?

BROWN HAS TO GO! THE TEAM HAS QUIT ON HIM.

TWO QUESTIONS...
1 HOW CAN YOU JUSTIFY LARRY HUGHES PLAYING MORE THAN DANIEL GIBSON LAST NIGHT?
2 WHERE HAS SHANNON BROWN GONE? HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN HIM GOING FROM A STARTER (WHO PLAYED VERY WELL) TO THE 13TH GUY?(SORRY THAT WAS 3 QUESTIONS)

Its getting harder and harder to defend Mike Brown when the team obviously does not make the correct adjustments at halftime or even during timeouts.

I just don't know how much longer I can stand to watch Larry Hughes. 1-9, 2-8, 3-12 How many guys in the NBA CAN'T DO THAT? Rather than taking responsibility, he whines and complains. Get him out'a here, now!

The defense showed up, but Larry Hughes's 1 for 9 shooting once again killed the offense. The Cavs seem to be playing better defense with AV now coming off the bench, but Larry and his $15 million salary is killing the offense.

If I were Coach Brown, I would bench him and push Ferry to trade him away quick for salary cap equal player[s]. He's a worthless piece of offense inconsistant crap.

James can't pass the ball to himself. Look at his options. Larry "One for Nine" Hughes (What happened to the lift in his legs?). Why is this so difficult for management to understand?

I wonder what James was implying by stating he's probably the only player in the NBA who is double teamed every time he touches the ball.

Maybe it had something to do with his supporting cast.

You people are being way too harsh. I watched a little of the game and I saw Hughes come very close. Sometimes he hit the backboard or even the rim. What, you want actual baskets? Meanwhile, Sacha continues to struggle, turning the ball over, missing layups that would shame high school players, and generally looking lost. At least when Boobie is in he plays with energy and commitment.
I still think the Hughes starts are a showcase. Maybe someone somewhere will think he will fit into another team's offense. Problem is, who will take on that horrible contract? And how can the Cavs put more money than I will ever make on the bench?

Unless there are some pretty siginificant personnel changes, this season looks more and more like the Coriolis effect.

It is a shame that these [very talentd guys] only have one option for where the trouble lays. Either go in second speed & as Jordan did one time.. shoot the free throw [with his eyes closed], huh? Or the other alternative... speak up & get clamped with a fine because of the coach's [taunting] in/maturity!

The coach should be double fined what the player was. But his time will come, or Gilbert will hear the boooo-birds plenty.
