Felix,
Why don't you "Made" the right choice and join him up North!?
Oops, you did that a couple years ago and you couldn't cut it. So, now your back in Las Cruces and mad at the world, you angry little man!

Did Dante made the right decision?....who knows who cares. He is a young talented athlete but far to over rated. Division I is a whole differant level and only the strong survive. If he's got it...he's got it. Take your Dantes Dawgpound and kick rocks up the 25. Good luck to you Dante.

It's great to see local high school kids get college athletic scholarships. The choice is up to them, it's their life.

The young man made what he believed is the best choice for him. Good luck to him and let's move on.

What I would prefer to see are some articles & information on the new asst. coaches that NMSU has hired.ie.. What are their strengths? past recuirting areas, former player comments, why were they brought to NMSU by Walker etc..

To all the media folks in LC get off your duffs and go down to the Football offices and spend some time talking to the new folks there ! Give us something more than what the Round-up can do!

Congrats to Dante. He will has an opportunity to be a part of a Div I Football program. Not many kids have that opportunity, let alone get to choose where it is.

However, I do agree with E-x Aggie Footballer. This is the LAS CRUCES Sun News. Thank you for reporting on Dante's situation, as he is a local product. Now, instead of enticing controversy, report on the impressive staff that has beeen hired at NMSU. Every asst coach has either Pac-10 or Mountain West or NFL experience. Not to mention the "news worthy" recruiting class that has been put together in only 26 DAYS.

Amazing second blown headline in less than a week from
the LC Rag News

First one was about the LCHS running back when he was
asked to "grayshit" for a year.

Now this one instead of saying make it says made.

Did anyone teach you folks on how to proofread!

You are a las cruces reporter and you have the audacity to basically say that UNM is a much better place than NMSU..Move to Albuquerque buddy!! How stupid could you be to come out and say that...Idiot Chavez!!!Looks like youll really get love from Walker now you MORON. Your sports views are basic...your sports knowledge is elementary...you dont have a fundamental or an advanced understanding of sports....better luck in your next career ROOKIE!!

Dante Caro made the right choice, NMSU has never shown interest in local athletes. This is why most choose to seek out other options. Football, Baseball, Basketball all NMSU coaches should remember we would rather go to games where we know the players. This year I will travel to see Ray Birmingham and the lobo baseball team because we have more Las Cruces baseball homegrown athletes over there. So Rocky Ward, enjoy the empty stands. Dante kick butt and we will see you in Albuquerque

Somehow people think just because you play football in New Mexico and win a state championship that it will equal success in college. Yeah right, big fish in a little pond ............

If I were a high school football player who was interested in remaining in NM to go to college and play, I'd compare NMSU with UNM. I'd look at the Rio Grande Rivalry score which currently shows that every single men's sport this year has been won by UNM. Then I'd look at the overall football record which gives UNM the edge. Then I'd look at who has won the most recent games -- again UNM. Then I'd compare conferences in terms of strength and notoriety -- gotta' give it to MWC over WAC. I'd look at which team has been invited most often recently to a bowl game -- UNM. I'd compare attendance at football games -- UNM averages more fans. Then, I'd look at the size of university and the opportunities in terms of options for higher education -- UNM is bigger and offers the most degrees. Why go to NMSU?
