Going for it on a 4th and 2, when it wasn't a necessary touchdown... don't you think that is the opposite of conservative? Everyone is bitchen about Tress doing it, but why? Everyone always complains when Tress plays conservative! I think a lot of fans need to pull out their scarlett tampons.
NO GO KILL THE TROJANS!!!
GO BUCKS!
It's not about the decision but the timing of the decision. He kicked three field goals all ready and this one would have put us up 3 scores so the time was right to kick it. Secondly, we need more imagination on the play call because of the HORRIBLE LINE COACHED BY JIM BOLLMAN. So.. while it was nice to see JT be a tad bit daring, it was the wrong time in the game the play called was AWFUL and JIM BOLLMAN still needs to be fired! The players come and the players go (many to the NFL) but year in and year out, we have a terrible offensive line... The common thread....Jim Bollman's coaching and JT's vanilla and predictable play calling......

I sure hate to say it but, I'm not feeling good about this game with USC.
Like they said on ESPN, Ohio State is representing the Big Ten's reputation in this game. A "whoopin" by USC would really taint the Big Ten's reputation.
I'm hoping that they held a lot back in the Navy game.
If we lose this one big, it's time to consider a coaching change.
Ohio State plays a horse-and-buggy" style of football while teams like USC play "high speed rail" offenses.
Ohio State keeps slipping in the horse poop that is the stagnant offense of Jim Tressel and his coaches.....Bollem and Heacock I believe it is.
This game should be a deciding factor in many ways.

I am starting to believe UC best team in the state and Brian Kelly the best coach. At least they show up and hit people while not worrying about running up some points. Buckeyes seem to be over rated, but our homer media won't let that be said. In reality after Pryor what major talent is there? I hope we are better, but don't have much faith anymore in our coaching schemes.

He was conservative, now he is just a nervous coward. He doesn't control the game. Anyway, I think he went for it to please Pryor, who was all about going for it. But don't roll Pryor to the outside to pass or run, that would make way too much sense. Tressel is conservative, but he has been taken out of his game because he is constantly outwitted, backed into a corner, and cowering. To bad it seems were stuck with him.
My point was that going for it on 4th and 2 is not conservative. That's chancing it when we didn't have to. I yelled "go for it" before the camera man zoomed in on Pryor saying the same. The stupid part on Tressel's play calling was trying to push Boom (not a north and south runner) up the middle with a freshman fullback. That was just stupid. That little pitch play that the over-used would have been perfect for that play, but no. Predictable play calling cost us that drive.

Just like Navy was no USC, San Jose State is no Ohio State. No doubt Ohio State needs to improve in scoring but, this year we have one bearer removed. Todd Beckman is gone and Terrell is it. Unless Tressel uses two quarterbacks this year too.
Usc last year played a game and had a bye week the week before they played the buckeye and a bye week after the game.
This year the USC are the unbeatable in their eyes, the media and the fan's. Well this is when the Buckeyes are best. If we were as good as we tlked about ourselves we would all be billionaires and not have to work a day in our lives.
Play the game and comment later!!

I think the problem is, if you look back at the 2 attempts you will see Boom is not the running back for short yardage. They should have run his running mate who is more of a power runner than boom is. Second if you have a QB like Pryor let him make the 2 yards.
Lastly if not for 2 bad defensive plays by our backs we win this game easily!!

Maybe it's not the line but the play called. Why go in the middle against a 6-7 defense line?

It's time to face the facts...if the Bucks play like they did against Navy the USC game will be a laugher by halftime.

Say what you want about his record against scUM but he always brought in good assistant (he had to because they moved on to head coaching positions) coach’s and let them coach the players how they liked while keeping his philosophies in mind. College football is a business, how many CEO's do you see making all the corporate decisions; from the mailroom to the boardroom? Bottom line is that Tressel needs to surround himself with people he trusts to coach the team with his philosophies. JT is a control freak, I believe because he doesn’t trust his staff...

Bad call when you were only two scores up....4-2 not 4-inches....bad play-if we need two yards i want pryor carring the ball not noah..he hasn't been stopped for no gain since the 7th grade....OSU wins by 24 if he kicks the fg and lets the game play out...bad timing- murphys law...the next play will be a game changer....check an 88 yd td pass

"I just feel that, uh, I mean he made his mistake, and, uh, I think he just needs more support. I mean, uh, not everybody's the perfect person in the world. I mean everyone does” kills people, murder people, and all types, steals from you, steals from me, whatever. I mean, I just feel that people need to give him a chance."
Thank God you got him and Michigan did not. Things work out for a reason......GO BLUE

Don't lose faith my Buckeye friends.

There were alot of new starters on Defense and they pulled the trigger on TP to get Bauserman some playing time.

OSU only ran 6 plays in the 3rd Qtr.

This game should've looked alot worse.

Unfortunately, I smell a good ole fashion beat down come Saturday night. The fallout will be Bulman getting the boot at the end of the season. Tressel is also going to have to give up play calling duties to an Off. Coor.

He's a good coach with a ton of integrity. But mark my words, loss or no loss, Tressel isn't the kind of guy to stick around to coach for next 10 years. He'll step away before too long and take an AD job or something (Gene Smith will move onto bigger and better things).

We'll then get someone you'd never believe would end up coaching the Bucks...I'll leave you wondering.:)

Don't we have some highly rated running backs? Aren't they some of the most highly recruited backs in the country? Same of the fat boys on the offensive line. Or is it all just a bunch of hype to sell papers and tickets? Time to beat the big boys and not just the Northwestern, Iowa, Navy and Toledo powerhouses.

You cannot score in the "Red Zone" with an offense that smells and looks so badly that it needs "Real Red Zone" to smother the smell and a blanket to cover all of tressel's B__L S__T offense! If tressel's offense was offensive to us against Navy---wait until we meet USC! We will need a field of orchids and roses!
