That game was one of the best I'v seen in a season of really great football games. Missouri's offense is exciting, if risky; frankly, I'ld love to see Ohio State (my alma mater) playing Missouri in New Orleans. I believe that would be a great game. Unfortunately, West Virginia, which barely survived Cincinnati, Louisville, etc., will likely trounce hapless (4-7)Pitt. Missouri on the other hand, has a real football game to play against a great opponent. Pray before you go, guys; that no. 1 curse is bad this year.

Lets look at the facts. OSU is 11-1 against a schedule with a 73-70 aggregate W/L record. By comparison, WVU is 11-1 against a schedule with a combined 73-68 record. No matter how the Louisville/Rutgers game turns out, that record will eventually become 74-69. If WVU beats Pitt, Itíll be 74-70.

As one can see, for all intents and purposes, the W/L results for OSUís schedule & WVUís schedule are identical. One canít really say one team played that much of a tougher schedule than the other. In fact, the only things that stand out are these 2 facts: 1) OSU lost at home to then unranked IL; a weak argument, given IL is 9-3 and should be ranked. WVU lost at then 18th ranked S FL, who, like the Illini, now stands at 9-3. 2) OSU played 1-AA Youngstown St. WVU played nothing but BCS teams.

The point is this: For someone to come out and say OSU is more deserving than WVU is, because they ďÖbarely survived Cincinnati, Louisville, etcÖĒ needs to take a step back and re-visit history. I recall back in 2002, this team from Ohio barely survived the likes of teams like Cincinnati during the regular season. Because of this, nobody gave them a chance against perennial power, Miami, in the BCS NC game. Please correct my memory, but I think the team from Ohio won that game. The same team made it to the NC game in much more notable fashion last year; went undefeated; played some one-loss team from FL; got their butts handed to them. You just never know, do you.

If WVU beats Pitt, Iím sure Coach Rod and the gang will be more than happy to take their chances against any team the BCS puts before them. If itís MO, thatís alright with me. If itís OSU, same answer. How ever it turns out, thatís how it turns out. Go Mountaineers!!! BEAT PITT!!!!!!!!!

The only difference to me really between OSU and WVU's schedules are the nonconfernce games. WVU didn't play cupcakes like Kent State and Youngstown State like OSU did. I also think the Big East is better from top to bottom than the Big 10 this season.

I hate to admit it but both Zac and Vince are right in their observations and memories. My response, and I think most will agree, WVU is not really in the same league with teams like Missour, Kansas, and Oklahoma. WVU could not beat Texas this year.
As for OSU, they have improved all year long. Most will agree they are presently a dominating, physical football team with a great coaching staff. WVU's little 185 lb. quarter back would suffer greatly after being nailed by Ghoulston or Laurenites. Both are as fast as he is. It may be that this conversation will become more than academic if Missouri loses.
AS for the Big Ten, the news of their demise is premature and exagerated, as will become apparent when the bowls are finished. Last year, our record against SEC teams was 2-1.
Finally, if WVU performs poorly against Pitt, it may well be that OSU is voted ahead of WVU. Frankly, I look for WVU to trounce Pitt; but you never know.

michael, your cranial-rectal inversion had caused you to think the sun rises and sets in ohio.... especially if you think, "most will agree" with your crazy statement on a WVU board! wake up man!
wvu is every bit the quality team of any big 12, big 10, pac 10 or sec team. if not, people smarter than you, would not have voted them to the top of the polls.
OSU couldn't seal the deal last year, and they'll be looking at the big show this year from the outside. how sweet it is!

And another thing michael, have you even watched the "little" 185 lb. QB play the game? Maybe watch a WVU game with your glasses on and you will realize Ghoulston and Laurenites are not even in the same world when it comes to speed!

The only way OSU goes to the NC game is if they back into it by default. The way the BCS system is set up is flawed.

A team must earn their way and play a real schedule not CRAP DIV I AA schools or teams from conferences you have never heard of before.

The BCS is a FRAUD IMO~!

LETS NOT FORGET, BEFORE S.FLORIDAS "MELTDOWN" THEY WAS #2 IN THE COUNTRY....
(*FACT*)>> ..WE BEAT OURSELVES IN TAMPA!!
I GUESS WE SHOULD HAVE PLAYED AKRON OR SOME HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM LIKE THE BUCKEYES, INSTEAD OF THE BULLS. THEN WE'D BE UNDEFEATED!

I DON'T RECALL ILLINOIS HAVING BEEN RANKED WHEN THEY MADE THEIR WAY TO THE HORSHOE AND PLANTED A RINGER ON THE BUCKEYES!

And the Illini OWNED the Buckeyes...they had no answer on defense on how to stop them.

The Buckeyes gave up 2x's their average on defense LOL~! looks like OSU played CRAP schools that made their overall defensive stats look AWESOME, but in reality they were as phony as a $3.00 dollar Bill LOL~!

All right. I give. Excellent points all, & well taken. If WVU gets there, they deserve to be there. Enough of my arm chair pontificating. We've all spoken from our hopes and now we'll see how this works out on the gridiron. One thing that will help WVU in the long run is if their fans travel to wherever the team winds up.

You are a lost cause aren't "YOU" ????

Hey start praying now that Missouri loses to Oklahoma, otherwise USC will give Ohio State an attitude adjustment they will never forget in the ROSE BOWL LOL~! you'll see....big talker LOL~!

Come on man check the record books, USC already OWNS the ROSE BOWL and the Ohio State Buckeyes historically.

Notice how it keeps repeating it's self over and over again LOL~!

Why are the majority of Ohio State fans always so delusional?

Stanford did get lucky and win that game, but I'm sure glad they did or I'd be a Sooner fan this week. I still am cause I think WVU will have less trouble with OSU than Mizzou, but they way this year has went you never know. If OSU does make it you know they will be eager to redeem themselves.
