Has Painter ever been in trouble with the NCAA at Purdue or Southern Illinois? The answer is NO !!.
Has Sampson been in trouble with the NCAA at Oklahoma and IU?? YES and the worst part it is for the same thing. Illegal phone calls. I guess Sampson will never learn. I am not saying that Purdue is perfect. But Painter has a clean record. Why hire a coach with dirty laundry and not get rid of him when he violates again !! Oh I forgot that Sampson did not know he was on a 3 way call. I don't beleive that in one heartbeat.
Let me be a voice of reason in all this insanity. Have you ever broken the law? I'm willing to bet you do it every day when you drive. The speed limit is posted and you know what it is but you probably still drive over it and probably have done it more than once in your life. How about gambling? You ever played an office pool for the NCAA tourny? More than once? My point is that yes Sampson broke the rule but is it a major violation? No, its like speeding or gambling in an office pool not any more. The NCAA isn't going to ban IU from post season play bc its only a minor violation. Sampson is a good college coach who can win games. However, Sampson will (and probably already has) learned that at IU its not good enough to win but he will have to do it the right away or he won't be around much longer. Remember IU turned him in and like my guy Fisher said at 95% of the institutions out there they never would have turned their coach in. The 2 senoirs graduated last year and the senoirs this year are on schedule to graduate. IU is an institution that will not put with cheating (again this isn't academic fraud or boosters playing players) but will give the guy a $500K fine if he doesn't understand it he won't have another chance. But, every institution has problems PU, IU, OSU, Michigan - its just a matter of degree of those issues.

TOURNEY SENIORS Just letting you know that you need to learn to spell. You misspelled "seniors" twice, so obviously don't know that word. By the way, normally it wouldn't be a major violation, however, since he was on probation for the SAME EXACT VIOLATION it will carry more weight. Why can't you people realize that the NCAA is not going to let this guy keep spitting in their faces. He obviously is a few brain cells short, and he may win, but never the big games. Can't coach through to the end plus can't graduate players, what does IU have to be proud of here? Nothing but sitting on their arses in March for this idiot's "mistakes".

Oh so now winning a National Championship is on par with an early season game aginst Missouri State? Oh that's right you have never won one. You don't know the difference. My point was this is an ugly skid even for an immature team. Wofford at home, Iowa St on a neutral court both of which have no chance of making the NCAA Tourney and then luckily dodging a bullet against Missouri St. Tourney committee will need some big wins to counter these bad losses. Prepare for the NIT.
i think pu sucks, just like yura thinkin'. good teems like iu dont ever loose to worford and missuri st. peeple keep tellin me to worri bout my own teem and leef the pu alone, but i just cant help but to rub it in they faces that we got 5 banners and will be gettin are sevinth this year and the broilers are going to the stoopid NIT, watever that is.

That Fan of IU clearly was dropped on his head as an infant. His ploy of stupidity really does work - better than he realizes.

I agree there are too many criminal athletes on all teams. One would think being raised in the competetiveness of a sports environment would build better character. Too many athletes are so stupid they are willing to risk high dollar futures for some criminal mis-adventures. Such a waste of humanity.

And can anyone tell me why the IndyStar saw it fit to post a story on the Murder City Bowl on Monday?

I was looking forward to watching the Gurlers in the Terlit Bowl against East-Western, possibly a little Northern, Michigan U.

Of course they do, they play in the Horizon League. They have not gone the farthest in the tourney over the past 10 years. Purdue- Elite Eight, IU- Championship game. Quit making Butler out to be more than they are- a mediocre mid-major.
Wow, Butler will be in their 3rd Sweet 16 (or further) this season in the last 6 years, there are actually only 22 others who have done it twice in the last five (IU and Purdue aren't one of those 21). Butler is, and has been for quite some time, the top basketball program in the state.

At least IU is respectible, Purdue is simply a joke.

Hoosierdaddy I still believe is a closet Purdue fan. Why else would he still be over here? He keep's saying Cupcakes? Surely he doesn't think Indiana should keep playing cupcakes does he? I have several hard core loosier fan's and they all are very disapointed at Indiana's schedule thus far. And are all calling for Sampson's head before they get a Postseason Ban. At least they are man enough to admit wrongdoing.
