Inside Rodriguez's E-Mails: a timeline of discontent at West Virginia
“You, Rich and I agreed in Rich's office we did not want any of the terms released and that it would take months for someone to get a copy of the contract through the FOI act. I am very disappointed that the AD violated an understanding we had.”
The disintegration of the relationship between West Virginia University and football coach Rich Rodriguez began months before Michigan offered him a job, according to e-mails obtained by The Associated Press. via Detroit Free PressFull Story

Rich Rodriguez is a greedy lying piece of crap. He was there with his hand out to take the money last year when Alabama came calling. Now he wants even more and took it from Michigan. He will get what he deserves in the big 11, just as Joe Pa did for leaving the Big East. Couldn't cut it. Go WVU, and screw the bibten and bigblew.

Most of the country agrees. This doesn't help that his agent was plotting to trash a contract literally weeks after his client signed it. Looks like his client is going to have a very difficult time presenting any case in court. If he were smart (what?) he'd settle and shut down this whole thing. I can think of $4 million reasons why EnRod needs this to go away. Interest on this much money piles up quickly.

Scott, I won't try to argue Rich Rod's motives, let alone how badly he handled this whole darn thing. Joe Pa, on the other hand, is an entirely different matter. He and his Nittany Lions were never members of the Big East. Though, they were invited once.
Roughly 12-15 years ago Syracuse Basketball HC, Jim Boeheim, sponsored Penn St's invitation to the Big East. Pitt, its commissioners and HC's were adamantly against Penn St joining, sighting a weak basketball program.(Remember, at that time the Big East was still a big basketball conference; football was more or less an afterthought.)
Of the Big East schools at that time, Syracuse, VA Tech, and WVU were the only ones to vote in favor of Penn St joining the Big East. Even Big East Commissioner, Mike Tranghese was quoted as saying something to the effect of, "…they'd rue the day they didn’t elect to have Penn St join the Big East." Shortly afterwards, the Big-Ten came a'callin, and that, as they say, was that.
To this day attempts have been made by the Big East to recruit Penn St to join. Admittedly, Joe Pa's ego, given the previous circumstances, has gotten in the way. Pitt's ego has been every bit as bad. Though it makes much more sense for Penn St to be a member of the Big East, likely it will never happen.

And if you think he's out in left field, check out the 'bombshell' that nobody is noticing... I'm starting a thread to that effect...
