No one was maimed or killed unlike the NFL kickoff classic. It is what it is: An event that attracts a variety of people in the African American community. Speaking of that. "where all the white people" ? I mean conservative whites complain about blacks not wanting to integrate but white folks dont support "black" events.

Ah, the racists are up early. Don't deny it. I've seen several of your posts Ernie!
ou just don't get bored do you. You must be a cop if you've already seen the arrest stats.

Tell me. Should we cancel all events that result in arrests or only black events?

You mean like the Old Oaken Bucket? The battle for the Little Brown Jug? The Red River Shootout? I can go on and on! Sounds like you have selective memory! Do you have a problem when predominately white schools play each other?

You have two predominately black schools competing at the CCC.(By the way, the only reason that these schools were founded is because blacks were excluded from schools like IU, Purdue, Michigan, etc.) They have more than 100 years of history.

Ok, we'll stop the CCC and IBE right after we shut down the State Fair, the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400. No events = no arrests at the events.

Hm, I never mentioned race, just the fact that the 50+ arrests were not mentioned.

Now your being a coward and back stepping. At least stand up for your beliefs and what you said. Nothing worse than a racist coward.

It is the narrow minded and uninformed people who post about articles like this who make Indiana look like a backward, intolerant and intellectually empty place. People commenting on events like CCC and IBE and have never been themselves and have NO idea what they are like. Calling people names (grow up and act like adults for goodness sake) and complaining about the need for "white events". Read history, the reason there are black events and other ethnic events is because the whites did not allow them to participate. As an Indiana native, I am embarrassed to read some of these posts.

Well said. I'm a white male and have attended about 10 Classic games and have always felt welcome. In fact, most people go out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Yesterday's game was one of the best. Great football, great atmosphere, great bands. Can't wait until next year's game in Lucas Oil Stadium.

I watched much of the parade on tv and it looked like well behaved family fun. I went to bed last night wondering if there would be any problems downtown. Most of my Irvington neighbors would prefer that Indy not host black expo or the classic and don't go downtown on weekends when they're going on. I don't know if that's rascist or not. I think people worry they might be victimized. I hope the news covers the details of any arrests or problems. If its safe perhaps it will become a more integrated event.

Is it racist? If they only want Indy to stop hosting Expo and CCC, yes it's racist. If they are worried about being "victimized" ONLY at the Expo or the CCC, yes, it's racist. However, if they are concerned about the crime, the traffic, etc. of other events, then it's not racist.

Judging by the number and types of arrests, it's "safer" than the Indy 500 as many people have pointed out already. For example, there were 73 arrests at Expo, almost exclusively for curfew violations. This is out of 300,000 people in attendance. At the 500 there were arrests for public urination, prostitution, disorderly conduct, etc. If your friends are truly concerned about "safety" they'll stay away from big races! I hope that this is helpful!
