No, I don't think we do all agree with that statment. Yes 4-1 is pretty good and if they beat MU on Saturday then things look good for them. But if MU happens to pull out the victory with a strong passing attack from a Texas boy, who was over looked by all the texas and ok schools and might want to get back at them, the Tigers are who I would put my money on.

Although you made this post a month ago, it still holds water after Mizzou's beatdown on Kansas last night.

The Big 12 Championship game is going to be tough to call. Mizzou wants payback and that will give them a strong morale push. Also, OU hasn't performed well in any away game this season. Add these to the fact that Missouri has their eyes on the Big Prize and you have a strong case for the Tigers to walk away with the Big 12 trophy.

OU has struggled with a defense that is quite simply lacking in physical prowess. The not-so-venerable Venables defense has not been able to stop a running offense of any strength all season. And, historically OU hasn't defended well against a passing offense except for interceptions. The best OU can hope for is the Fiesta Bowl whereas Mizzou wants the National Championship. In my opinion, OU's only hope is for Stoops to get back some of his old craftiness. He used to be known as the trickiest coach in NCAA football, but in recent years he has become boringly conservative. Boise State used plays in a crunch that Stoops once did on a regular basis.

I hope OU wins, but my prediction is that the Tigers will win by two touchdowns. This really hurts me to write being an OU fan since birth, but I fear that we will lose.

I see the Sooners are currently 3 point favorites against Missouri in the Big 12 championship game. Now tell me, how can the Sooners be ranked 8th in the BCS standings but yet be favored against the #1 ranked team? Sounds pretty odd to me.

After personally being at the game and watching the complete unfolding of it, I can surmise that MU was completely out coached and beaten even before the game began. They were not prepared properly and the coaches made absolutely no half time adjustments. Chase was told to play not to Lose instead of play to win. Very bad advice.
Without throwing the ball down field and at least trying to stretch the defense, it left OK manhandling the line of scrimmage and MIZZOU.
Kill KU next year and hopefully we will see you again in Kansas City.
