Up until these last several games against horrible teams, our SOS has been pretty high. We were also rated #1 in several RPIs, and you just don't get a #1 RPI ranking if you play a total creampuff schedule. We've played a bunch of teams who may not have the "name," but who will be good/decent teams this year and will go down as pretty good wins.

I think it's unfair to call out the Canes over beating a few cupcakes, as every single major college basketball team in the country plays some cupcakes. We've mixed in some decent teams with them; after conference play, look for our SOS to be in the 30s or 40s, which is pretty good. If you want a REALLY weak schedule, look at UF...

Oh, and we play GT on the 12th, not the 21st of January.

Orange, I agree! Every team has their cupcakes at the beginning of the season. But name a team that the Canes have played that can be considered good or decent? Do you think any of the teams they have played will qualify for the tournament? Do you think the Canes will make the tournament.....and I don't mean the NIT? As for UF, you said it, every team starts the season with cupcakes! They do have Ohio State this Saturday. At the end of the season we'll talk strength of schedule, not now! The Gators are doing well for losing their top 6 players from a NC team! They have no seniors, one junior and the rest of the team is underclassmen with very little experience. They will be decent this year, but look out for them in the next 2-3 years, they will be a powerhouse!

Well Mike you're at it again like most of the media. Lambast the Canes whenever you feel like writing an article. Any other hangups you have about UM? Bring it out if need be. This is going to be a really good team as the cohesion and unselfishness is already in place.

When I check Miami's RPI, it is 18 in contrast to the 92 mentioned in the story.

Earlier this year Miami's RPI was 2 right after they played St John's.

So what is the point of the article if the current RPI is indeed 18?

Seriously, do some fact-checking Cunningham. RealtimeRPI.com lists Miami at #18. What a crock. It may drop after including North Florida, but at least get your facts right.
