...this just gets better and better ...not necessarily the football team ...but the front that is being foisted on anyone willing to wear blinders as to what Parcell's role really is ...or that Sparano hasn't already got the "nominal" HC job ...sure thing, you hire key coaching staff without first hiring their boss ...unless, behind the scenes, you already have ...but need to keep a front up for the NFL front office.

“You want some of this?”

He's a Parcells guy, that's all you need to know. The Tuna knows football. Having all the personnel on the same page is all good.

Did you even bother to read the article?

I've read that Palmer might be a candidate for the OC position. This hire would make sense as well if that is indeed the case. Interesting...

I agree that the HC job is already filled. I'm surprised Parcells would be this obvious about it. Maybe the announcement for Sparano will come tonight or tomorrow?

Yet another sign that they've already hired Sparano. There's absolutely no way they'd hire the assistant coaches if they didn't already have a deal in place with Sparano.

Personally have no problem with this, but i hope the league doesn't punish the franchise for Parcells making a mockery of the Rooney rule.

Can somebody tell me what the duties of "offensive (or defensive) quality" coach is? Sounds like 2 positions the Dolphins didn't have filled this past season.

i think the miami dolphins are doing a very excellent job and im happy were in the right direction.

the main thing as far as coaches besides the head the team should worry about is the defensive coach.

the defense needs to improve........

Yeah this isn't surprising. Pretty freakin' bold too. If we all know what the deal is, so does the league. BUT, can the PROVE it? I'm sure Tuna has his ways of finagling.

I don't much care. All I care about is the freight train has begun to move, and there's a big Tuna wearing the engineer's hat with guys jumping on.

Agree with observations above - If Sparano isn't the new HC then I'll turn into a patsy fan.

Quality control coaches are essentially assistant Offensive or Defensive Coordinators.

It also provides another layer from which to promote when teams hire away your coordinators.

...Parcells is a defense oriented coach ...if we keep the #1 pick it will be a dt with both size and strength.

...the job can't even be offered to Sparano as long as Dallas is still in the playoffs ...not to mention the Rooney Rule requires Miami to interview at least one minority for the position first ...either way the earliest possible hire date for Sparano would be Monday and then only if Dallas loses ...else it could be Feb before the job gets officially filled ...in the meantime, a lot of coaching talent is on the market and Parcells isn't going to let the opportunity pass if, in his not so humble opinion, the right people become available ...but I have to believe that Sparano at least approved a list of possible coaches during his "interview" ...neither Parcells nor Ireland are dumb enough to hire a coach they are not certain will work well with Sparano.

...oh it thickens allright ...if Sparano comes here and Garrett takes another HC position (assuming Jones doesn't outright fire Phillips and replace im with Garrett), then you have to consider the possibility that Cameron could become the Dallas OC ...he and Phillips go way back and Cameron is still considered a very talented OC, just not current HC material.

Who is the Cowboys D/C? 10 to 1 he will be here by the day after the superbowl. Jerry Jones is crapping in his pants right now, all he will be left with is his buddy T.O. GO PHINS!!!
