Good luck to the Illini. Bruce Weber and Jay Price will always be part of the Boiler Nation and we'll always pull for you guys when you're not playing Purdue. Go out and win against Wisconsin so you can go to the Big Dance.

All the Bruce Weber haters can now shut up. This is a fantastic coaching job on a team with extremely limited talent.

And, his program does not cheat.

Wow, are you suffering from amnesia, the program was all over the papers in the early 90's. Lou Henson was the biggest crook in the Nation.

You can't sweep under the rug what Deon said. I believe Deon and it all makes sense. Dion's family has verified what he said. You can call all of these people liars but the truth is the truth. This was a lot more than phone calls.

You might want to read below.

I didnít understand Deon as to exactly where this offer took place but he did
indicate it was a one on one conversation. I could tell he was not comfortable telling me exactly who made the offer so I asked him this question -- "You mean Coach Henson took you aside and offered you $80,000 to play for him?" Deon responded, "It wasnít Lou, it was his boy." I asked who he was referring to and he said Jimmy. I asked Deon if he thought Coach Henson knew about it and he said he would have to know.

Over a period of three months, February through April, many people became aware of the offer. Some of these people include:

Everett and Joanna Johnson -- stepfather and mother
Bernice McNary -- grandmother
Latisha Scott (senior at Julian H.S.)-- girlfriend
Avery Stallings, Antoine Johnson, Jackie Crawford and others -- teammates
Renaldo Kyles -- best friend

Quit trying to cover up for Lou Henson He had a lot of great players but couldn't get the most out of their talent, what a shame

I have been attending the BIg 10 tourney for a few years and have attended many college games. But I will never attend a game involving the university of illinois. I have never come across fans who were more rude and vile.

My son 6 year old son and I sat near the quite a few illinois fans. Illinois fans were using the "F" bomb, "GD", BS, calling the refs and gopher players "fags". There was so much profane language being used I asked them to stop because of my 6-year old son. I was told to "shut the _____ up" (you can fill in the blank). I finally took my son to another section.

I informed an usher, who told me she had gotten complaints all tourney long about them but was unable to do anything.

I hope that the university of illinois does not condone this language. But whether they do or don't, I will never attend another game involving illinois again.

I, for one, am thrilled for Bruce Weber and Ill. I hope they go the extra mile today and even if they don't they have done a tremendous job. As for Eric Gordon and his father they can see hind sight is a wonderous thing as his stock has dropped for the NBA not to mention the people at IU now seem to have no love loss for the kid.

Hello Mr. Truth,

The only time Ilinois players were at a graduation was to watch their sisters graduate. Oh, and did I mention NO CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Oh, by the way read the post from DISGRUNTLED, his post verifys what I said about character.

How does it feel Eric? All those shots you intentionlly missed are a poor way to protest. In the first game of the NCAA why don't you and all the other IU players use some lipstick and write KS on your cheeks. Either set.

Go Bruce Weber.

Mr Truth and Disgruntled - no one (other than you) is talking about Lou Henson. Today, we are talking about Bruce Weber. Find something to talk about in the current century, that has some relevance. And your so-called verification is just wrong. Deon Thomas denied that Illinois ever offered him money. His family backed him up, and the real allegation is that Iowa offered to buy Deon's grandmother a new house. LaPhonso Ellis also confirmed Illinois did not offer him any money. The sanctions imposed were real, the allegations never proven. That's the real lesson for IU to learn. The NCAA doesn't have to prove anything beyond their own standard. They can take small violations and slap a "lack of institutional control" on a school and impose big penalties. That's what IU has to look foward to. As for Illinois, I'm glad that nightmare is in the past.

Good luck Illini, you played a great game. Although the loss stung, it didn't seem nearly as painful after the next game was finished.

Were there any sanctions from those charges from the 90's or did they all prove to be lies from Pearl? Funny that IU would consider making the same mistake twice in a row.

PLEASE, quit trying to sweep everything under the rug. See below, this is Illinois not the NCAA. I can't wait for you to twist or manipulate what is stated below.

After beginning its own investigation in July 1989, THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS IMPOSED SANCTIONS ON THE TEAM, including freezing coaches' salaries and putting Mr. Collins on probation until August 1, 1992, which places him under the athletic director's supervision.

He is also banned from off-campus recruiting until Jan. 15, 1991. On July 1, 1989, the university converted the independent Athletic Association -- which financed and ran university athletic programs using athletic event gate receipts -- into a department after a state audit cited misuse of money.

"These are the actions of an institution that is committed to integrity and will take all necessary steps to improve it," said Chancellor Morton Weir.

I am not here to bash ILL, I am tired of ILL calling IU cheaters without mentioning their own downfall. You are right I shouldn't be mentioning Lou Henson, he is not the coach. I was simply referring to him because he was the coach at the time of the investigation.

Bruce Weber hasn't done amazing coaching or anything great for this team to be in the finals. The guys are just coming out and playing with emotion. They've had a few lucky bounces, with purdon't able to win, and Minnesota isn't that good; we sha'll see against a good Wisconsin.

All I know is BW is such a cry-baby. He is always whining or mad at something...so annoying

BAWHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!! Still trying to divert attention away from your extremely crooked program?? BWAHAHAHAHAHHAH!!!

You can speculate all you want about what actually happened 18 years ago, but the fact is you are doing nothing but SPECULATING. Hahahahahahah!!!! It's apparent you didn't read the NCAA report, but don't bother now, as it's apparent the words would be too complicated for you to understand based upon you not understanding information that you yourself posted.

BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHH!!! poor little hoosiers going down in flames with the NCAA, and what is even more pitiful is that your team can't cheat their way to any wins!!!

BWAHAHAHAHH IU SOLD IT'S SOUL FOR THEIR CURRENT TEAM AND THIS IS WHAT THEY GOT...

3RD PLACE FINISH IN BIG TEN

HEAD COACHES' CONTRACT BOUGHT OUT

PRIZED RECRUITS DECOMMITTING

PLAYERS TRANSFERRING

IMPENDING NCAA POST SEASON BAN AND SANCTIONS, although you needn't worry about the post season ban as you won't qualify for the post season the next 4-5 years anyways.

UMMMM HELLO?? IU is stocked full of cheaters and has been doing so for decades, yes decades! IU no longer has the favorable connections at the top of the NCAA to be able to get away with cheating.

You think you're tired of hearing about cheating now? Well get used to it jim bob, because you are going to hear it for the next decade. Even though the NCAA never found anything substantial against Illinois, and they imposed sanctions on us, we had to hear about it from you slack jawed hicks for a long time. Payback is due, and will come full force for twice as long.

5 dusty banners + 5 MAJOR Violations = IUNLV

I've pointed you to where you can look up FACTS, yet you absolutely refuse to do so. You would rather avoid using facts in your argument altogether, but that doesn't surprise me. So you can fabricate whatever you want about Illinois back in 1990, but IT DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT IU IS CURRENTLY A CORRUPT PROGRAM!!! BWHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!

Yet you are so transparent (read: easy to see through), because your real intent is to divert attention away from the FACT that IU has fallen into the sewer (both with the cheating fiasco, and the level of play by the team). This is a tactic that a 4 year old would use, although this doesn't surprise me with IU turning out attorneys such as Dan Quayle.

You see little guy, IU brought all of this on themselves. If your fanbase wouldn't have behaved like a bunch of low class morons during the Gordon recruitment (even though you got your over-rated player), then maybe you wouldn't be hearing "IU Cheats" so much. But after your fan base got what they wanted (by cheating), they had to taunt Illinois. And they wouldn't shut up about it either. Who is laughing now? Simple question, but can you answer it?? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!

Well unfortunately there are too many people in power from Illinois, so you wrote your own demise. And the NCAA is going to punish you so severely that you aren't going to stop crying for a very long time.
