The truly bad rap on Fridge is that this team has been 8yrs in the making. Building credibility with recruits, amassing depth and talent, generating interest and expectations with the fans, all supposedly culminating in a glorious demonstration of gridiron brilliance.
THUD!!
That’s the sound of the wheels falling off the Maryland football program on Saturday night. I like the Fridge on a personal level, but if I hire you to build me a Ferrari and you show up on race day with an out of tune Pinto…
YOUR ASS IS FIRED!!

For those who think that’s too harsh, remember they just barely pushed that Pinto across the finish line last week in the SOAP BOX DERBY!!

Here’s a riddle for you: How many napkins would Skip Holtz need to wipe away the drool at the thought of having Portis as his QB?

One hallmark of a 5-7 program is the get wins when the real pressure is off.

Like a year ago against Rutgers, there is talent to beat a good team, and there will be a flash or two of motivation. This will be nicely packaged and tried to be delivered as "We are just a step away from being great, I am proud of the kids."

That is vintage Ralph since 2002, put it on us like we are lousy fans and he is a great guy. Had a lot of belief that this was not so, but it is so.

Finally, I believe these "kids" that I really believe are MEN are not on board with the excuses anymore.

Too bad, it almost happened, but Fridge let it slip away. The Steffy move will be the final push to another bad season and result in a change next year.

Just one thought on playing Portis: If he is really so good, why was he third on this terrible depth chart after spring and summer practices? Has to be a reason or reasons. Remember he has been there for a long time now. He should be ready if he can really play. I have serious doubts. Might make a good flanker with his running ability.

The truth is we have 3 average or less quarterbacks at UM -- no real talent at the QB position. This makes it obvious that the program has been totally mis-managed in recent years.

Ralph is the CEO of the program and he has to take the responsibility for a football program heading south at a high rate speed.

Cal. 50-MD 7. This might be the bet of the century. But I'm sure it'll be off the board Sat. Would anyone in their right mind take the Terp's and 14 against any Pac 10 team, much less #23 Cal????

Maryland's defensive line is a complete joke.

I have seen a better pass rush by Pop Warner and CYO teams.

Prediction for Maryland's upcoming game --

Califonia - 48
Maryland - 13

Maryland will finish with a 3-9 record (good for last place in the ACC - even behind Duke)

I am glad that Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin.

Jelani Jenkins and Travis Hawkins will be signing with the University of Florida.

I know Baltimore has a high murder rate....I can only see that number growing because Cal is gonna destroy Maryland and prove that the ACC needs to just stick to basketball and get rid of every football team they have....ROLL ON YOU BEARS!
