This loss should definitely put Friedgen on the hot seat, it was inexcusable.
I agree. It one thing if the other team is truly outplaying you. The N.Illinois game was more acceptable. They were a good team, and it was a tough fought game. MD looked like a D1AA team out there. They seemed totally ill prepared. Maybe they were looking ahead to Cal and thought it would be a cake walk. If that is the case, then it is the coaches fault for not having them focus. Poor all the way around on this one.

All right now, Terpsters. We are looking real bad right now(rightfully so.) We need to support our squad. As bad as I feel about the kitchen appliance and his toasters, we still have a full season ahead. I know it looks bad but I still have my child and all the other parent's kids on this squad. Imagine them not having support from us, the Terp Nation? We know the problem here is fixable, talent is everywhere. Bit my lip saying this, Go Terps, get it together. For all the parents sufferin', I feel your pain. Hang in there. Go Terps!!
Adgreed. No more booing. Time to get loud and proud against Cal. I witnessed first hand yesterday at the Ravens game what it means for the crowd to be into the game. The players feed off of it. We went to the game yesterday thinking the season was a lost cause. And look what happened. Everyone was standing almost the whole game. One of the more intense games I have ever attended. We need to be that intense Sat against Cal.

<quoted text>Bob, you are my main man. We are the only ones consistently bashing both of these overrated bums. We seem to be the only people that realize terrible coaching around here. And you're right. Basketball is going to be worse than the garbage football. I can't wait. PS. All of you that keep supporting Gary and Ralph are bums as well!!
Ahh yes, your main status in life, "I bash my coaches". Are you a politician? You must be so proud that is your standing in life "I live to bash my coaches and team". In case you were even paying attention, Bob was bashing someone who actually AGREED with him! I think Bob from Towson was upset because he didn't get to bash the basketball team first. That, and you, are pathetic.

Sorry, he's a senior. The guy backing him up may be better, and you'll get another look at him next year.
I'm glad all but one of your posters are classy. The game was on Comcast, where usually you get home-team homer announcers. I know the color guy was Kelly Holcomb, who was a former MT QB that just finished a 13-year NFL career. Before the game he was inducted into the MT Hall of Fame. And the way, isn't UM east of the Ozarks too?
Even I am surprised at how we dominated the Terps. The TOP was incredible. That was the most complete game I've seen us play. I belive former Terp/TN Titan Frank Wycheck has some bets to pay up now. He still lives in Nashville as the Titans radio analyst and AM talk show host here.
It could be could've lost to Appalachian State!
Well, I will say this, your team totally outplayed MD. No "freaking refs cheated us" or any of that non-sense. MD just did not show up. Best of luck to the rest of your season.

If some of you guys think that the only problem MD has is the QB then you obviously haven't been watching them too closely. Recruiting the occaisional star does not make you a good recruiter. You need to recruit enough players to provide the requisite depth so you won't have the ups and downs. Fridge needs to go now!! This says it all: "We came and were not focused, and that is what I am concerned about," Friedgen said. "I wasn't able to get our guys to understand, and that is my fault. We need some more consistency in our offense."
He got to go!!!!!

The Terps Football team is PATHETIC. Ralph Freidgen has not proven he can win with players he's recruited. How much longer do the Terps have to be a second rate football program? I don't think we need to contend for a national title every year, but it would be nice if we could beat a good high school football team, which we obviously can't. If the players aren't listening to him by the 2nd game of the season, he needs to go.
Good thing. We haven't contended since 1955.

Don't you hate it when a team you schedule as padding for your win/loss record (so you can go .500 and get a bowl bid) plays to win and does. Make sure they get the memo next time Ralphie. It's the least you can do, as long as it doesn't take away from your eating time.
Between 70 and 73 Maryland always scheduled Villanova as a tuneup game, in College Park. Every year they got beat by the patsy. In 74 Villanova suspended football because they didn't win enough games. So who did the Terps get as their first game? Alabama!

Stop pretending Maryland has a great football tradition. They don't. Geographically they aren't well situated to compete, a small state situated between three large ones, with traditional college programs; Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Ohio, and they didn't build winning programs and traditions early on to attract prospective students and their parents, schools like Penn State, Notre Dame, Georgia and Georgia Tech.

Face it, Maryland will always be an also ran, and the Fridge is the perfect coach for that position.
Remember this is the team that's faced Penn State 22 times and has yet to win one.
