It is no surprise that she is leaving. She never should have been hired. Seeing that she didn't even live in our district, but again Barberton makes exceptions for certain people, had it been someone they wouldn't have gotten hired. At least we know were her loyalty is and now so does that idiots that gave her the job with our school district. Now she will take all of those looser principal's she brought with her to Barberton high school back with her or least I hope so. Good Bye Mrs. Lolli and good ridence.....

Not everyone in Barberton is narrow-minded and uneducated. Some of us can actually spell and use good grammar. Although Dr. Lolli may not have always made popular decisions, she did put children first. It is with mixed emotions we see her go. Best wishes to her and to whoever the Barberton Board of Education selects to take her place.

Dr Lolli is under contract with the barberton schools for the next couple years. They should hold her accountable and refuse to let her out of her contract. She is looking to retire and double dip and I along with many other people believe she should be forced to stay retired or pay the penalty in a lawsuit. Barberton should sue her for the remaining 2 years left on that contract. Of course Russ Shreiner and the band of idiots down there at the school board will let her slither away. I am calling for the removal of all School board members for allowing this woman to even come to barberton including that idiot Joe Stefan who the people just elected, He is pilfering the city with his incompetence and helping his family to profit with jobs at the new YMCA not to mention he all the sudden has a business inside the YMCA. Now how does that happen?

It is too bad to see such a quality, top-notch official leave Barberton. Residency does not make or break the person you narrow minded people living in a bubble. She was resisted because she tried to instill change for the better. Too bad the old boys network could not accept that. Her new district really does get a gem.

BULL CRAP SHE PUT THE KIDS FIRST. SHE WAS INTRESTED IN HERSELF AND THATS IT. SHE NEVER SUPPORTED THE TEACHERS AND CARED LESS ABOUT THE KIDS. THIS IS THE FIRST STEP TO MAKE BARBERTON A GOOD SCHOOL SYSTEM. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN THOUGH BECAUSE THE PEOPLE IN BARBERTON COULD CARE LESS IF THEIR KIDS GET AN EDUCATION OR NOT.

I've lived there all my life and I can tell you that she was probably the second worst Superintendent the Barberton Public Schools ever had. Jerry Pecko was the worst. Lolli was not far behind being the #1 worst though. I'm glad she is going......those folks have no idea what they are getting involved with.

You said it Barberton Kid. Too bad for our town that Dr. Lolli is leaving. She had a right to live anywhere she wanted as anyone should. It had nothing whatsoever to do with the quality of what she had to offer. We just keep screwing up people in Barberton. Open your eyes.

Umm. HUH?

You can't force somebody to "stay retired". Many teachers do that nowadays. I don't like it either, but it's not illegal. As far as your other ramblings, geezzzzz.

Barberton is going no where. They only believe in hiring their incompetent friends and relatives to key positions. thats why the city is in such shambles. How else could someone who has bankrupted every business he has get on the school board?

<quoted text>
No one can be forced to retire but Mrs. Lolli agreed to a contract and regardless of retirement or not she is under contract to work solely for the Barberton School district. It would have to be written in the contract that her contract becomes null and void upon retirement. If that were the case then whoever wrote that contract would be a fool to include that clause. I think the City Schools would have every legal right to enforce the issue. What would be the purpose of entering into a contract if you allow a party to arbitarily break it? Barberton should have every right to block her legally from taking a position elsewhere when she is under a contract for the specified time.

Well obviously Steve D you cant see things any clearer from Arkansas. This administrator ALWAYS had kids at heart when she made any decision. Including decisions that forced teachers to be held to standards. It is hard to understand why there are a handful of negative people spreading nonsense in Barberton. What is harder to understand....the citizens believe them!!

I'm not from ARKANSAS. Our Internet IP address is routed through Little Rock for some odd reason. I live in barberton (North End) and work in Hudson. I KNOW what goes on in town and I can see all the dumb mistakes our elected officials make....including the appointing of LOLLI.

Hopefully she wasn't as bad a superintendent as you were a student.

Yea, they didn't pass the levy so everybody would get a big 10% pay raise. Now the rats are leaving the sinking ship.

Well Steve D I know what you say about elected officials. However, the people of Barberton put them there. I do believe THEY the people make poor choices. That is where believing the handful of nay-sayers comes into play. If someone in the group says it....boy it sure must be fact!!! Usually a bunch of hog-wash. Funny you should mention that one just got re-instated.

I can agree with you there. These idiots that are getting elected are ruining the city...the state....and the country. These are the same group of people who supported Taft and Bush too.

Ironically, the folks I voted FOR in the last few years have not won their elections. It's a bit disappointing to think back now and maybe the ones who lost, those that I supported, were probably the better choice in the long run.

I don;t know if you are old enough to vote yet, Kid, but know your facts before punching that ballot and don't vote based on "party favoritism" like most Republicans do.

At least now, the deception, lies and omission of key information coming from former Mayor Hart and Dr Lollipop is finally behind us. These were the two key people standing in the way of passing yet another school levy.

Now, it remains to be seen if they have been or will be replaced by people with more honesty, integrity and financial responsibility.

The voters are still reeling from the High School fiasco from a few years ago, and understandably will not be willing to pay more property taxes until they see some leadership that can be trusted.
