C'mon and get serious.
You lost to Iowa!! Granted, a 1 point loss, but it was a loss. You kind of lucked out against Ohio State.
If Pryor had just run straight ahead instead of trying to go outside on his fumble Ohio State would have kept the ball and won the game.
Penn State is a great team no doubt, and I agree with you about USC, but all it takes these days is lose 1 and you're done.

Who let's this clown right articles...hey Frankie it's called sports. Who cares about your should of, would of, could of article. The fact is PSU did not come to play against Iowa. Your talking to a PSU die hard here...you know bleed blue & white & the whole 9 yards. Come on Frankie write an original article. Write something like how nice it was to see PSU back in the talk about the nations best. About how this senior class went to war with Joe & the coaches as freshman when some of them could have played anywhere in the country & PSU was in the midst of horrible seasons & bad recruiting classes. Write about that for once Frankie.
As far as why USC is ranked higher than PSU if you haven't learned by now the BCS is all about momentum. You can't lose late in the season it has to be early unless you lose to a high ranked team like Texas did. This isn't rocket science people...Joe said "it's the B.S.C."...bring on the playoffs Barack!!!

A bunch of one loss teams equals a bunch of teams that all have legitimate arguments to be in the title game. Two weeks ago, the commentators were talking about how the BCS was "falling into place" as it always does. Just a week or two later, it is in chaos again. A national championship will never be legitimate until it is decided in a playoff. Then it doesn't matter if you are #1 or say #8. You still have a chance to prove it on the field.

The writer writes a credible question, you reply with some incredible rantings. Oklahoma is not third in the BCS rating, yet has given up an average of more then 23 points/game and that is with a game with the Chattanooga Mocs, a 1-AA team thrown into the stats. The okies gave up 45 points in a losing effort to Texas and Kansas is not a powerhouse, but they allowed 31 points that week. They have not played a quality opponent outside of their conference. I would question how good the conference is when every team playing there has give up over 35 points in at least one game.
The BCS ranking of USC has nothing to do with momentum. PENN STATE has won the Big Ten conference, USC is in second and needs help to win the PAC 10, so your momentum theory is bunk.

Mr Bodani,
I respectfully disagree with you regarding your assessment of the Big 12's non-conference schedule this year. OU, for example, has played 10-2 TCU and beat them and 10-2 Cincinnati and beat them. Right now there are 5 or 6 teams in the Big 12 that right now no athletic director will be jumping on the phone to schedule in the next few years. I also do not think PSU has played any better schedule than OU. Oregon St. is not any better than TCU and Cincinnati. In fact, I think a good matchup would be Cinncinatti/TCU vs. Oregon St. It is very easy to be myopic about your home town team. The perception nationally is not that the Big 10 is down. The reality is, across the Big 10, outside of PSU, MSU, and possibly OSU they are not very good. Of course the bowl season will help us see this more clearly.

Penn State always has to suffer due to the likes of ESPN and ABC sports. They always say Penn State never plays anyone but when they do play someone in the bowls they won more than lost. Look at all the heizeman's trophy winners they shut down in bowl games, yet they don't get the respect. All sports are a joke controlled by the refs and Vegas.

I can respect your disagreement, but Cincinnati nor TCU has beaten any team of the caliper of USC, but Oregon State has and Oregon State, not USC is in first place in the PAC 10, so the perception of those giving the perception that the Big 10 is down is quite in question, since they have OS ranked 16 and USC in the top 5. The reality is that Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas and Oklahoma State all have defenses that are like sieves and not one Big 12 school can match up against an upper tier team outside of their conference. They only look good because they play each other.
Penn State has the complete package, offense and defense.Only one other school has shown that they are in that class and that is Alabama. Florida has a coach that like to keep piling it on, but does not make his team great. They missed an extra point when the game was on the line. Not a long field goal or a short run by a goal line stand, but an extra point. Great teams do not do that.

See, you and others see this and just say, "That's the way it is; deal wtih it."

But that's not GOOD ENOUGH. It's wrong.

Anyway, the real problem is that PSU could have run the table, and some of these jokers would STILL be looking for a way to slip a one-loss team into the BCS final ahead of the Nittany Lions.

Because Penn State is not a "sexy" team. You listen to the media in other areas of the country, and all they can throw at you is Ohio State's tanking of the last two BCS finals. They use that to discredit Penn State. But they never deal with Penn State itself, the plusses and minuses of this particular team.

Because frankly, there aren't a whole lot of minuses with this Penn State team. And if you look at them like that, they have as good a resume as any other one-loss team out there.

Rantings hmmm...hwo about this...the moral of the story is it's the BSC not the BCS. PSU lost to an unranked. The players choked, the coaches, choked, everyone did. Don't make excuses just deal with it! PSU wasn't going to play for the title anyway that is the reality of it boyz. Please help me figure out who Penn State's quality opponent was out of conference that they played...Coastal Carolina??? For that matter help me figure out who Penn State's quality opponent was in the conference. Like i said in my previous statement i'm as big of PSU fan as anyone but i'm just being a realist not a PSU homer.
Think about this...I agree the PAC-10 is over rated (have been for years) if momentum has nothing to do with it then how is USC ranked ahead of PSU after losing to a team PSU slaughtered. Obviously the score doesn't mean much. nor strength of schedule. No the fact is USC lost early in the season & noone cares. they are killing teams & taking care of business. they have the momentum of the voters. as does florida i might add...ponder that one homers!

It's hilarious that you could even write that without using the words "Oregon State."

You have failed. Leave your playbook with your assistant coach as you exit.

No team that lost to a middle of the pack school (Iowa) in a mediocre conference (Big 10) should get a sniff at the BCS championship game. The writer sounds almost as bad as a Notre Dame or Duke fan!

Daily Horoscope for January 4

If your goals are fairly modest in the short term, they are achievable and you're likely to get some praise for achievements along the way. If you aim too high too quickly, others might not take you seriously or think you're being uppity and you could come unstuck. It's all a question of attitude and approach. There are contradictory influences over the next ten days but there could also be good luck coming your way.
