Sounds like you are a little bit bitter. If the canes had won, you would have loved the article that would have been written. The fact is, the Gators dominated your canes team. GO GATORS!!!!!!!

I went to and graduated from Florida and I could care less!! You try to play in the NCAA Tournament and don't worry about winning the NIT Tournament.

Very good win for the Gators. This team has problems which can only be overcome by recruiting front court players. Hopefully the Gators can seize some momentum for next year.

How many times have we seen teams criticize that they were snubbed by the NCAA selection committee only to get an early depature from the NIT.

Have you noticed the field of teams who have been in the NIT in recent seasons!?! Georgetown, Kentucky, Syracuse, Maryland, Florida. These are quality hoops programs who had disappointing seasons.

There are over 300 NCAA D1 hoops programs. Only 65 get an invite to the big dance. It's not like FBS CFB where almost 50% of the teams get invited to a bowl game.

Playing in the NIT is like playing in a December bowl game. It may not be glamorous, but it beats cleaning out your locker at the end of the regular season.

Please note that Jeremy writes for the Orlando Sentinel, not the Sun Sentinel. The Sun Sentinel not only passed on any lead story for this game, they didn't even cover the event. Haven't you noticed that the Sentinel coverage of the Hurricanes mirrors the attendance and support of most Cane "fans". Win, and you get support. Lose, and no one shows up.

Attendance at the UM senior day game -McClinton's last home game - was well under 3000 people. Pathetic when you think about it given the quality wins UM posted this year in the tough ACC.
