New beginning of the season. Start a winning streak with this game. Play tough defense and the rest will take care of itself.

Agree with Bubba, that's why UTEP will always be a mediocre university.

The classless people of N. Juarez aka El Paso will be on ESPN today. This should be fun to watch!

You guys actually think UTEP can compete with Memphis? Even on a down year we will destroy you on national television. Must see TV!!

Things happen, teams lose games and teams win games. Anything can happen, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that UTEP can't compete with Memphis. I say it's anyone's game...but due to two factors, Miners are hungry for a win and it's a home game. I know they lost at home against UCF, but I think they thought they were going to walk through them...NOPE. Anyway, I predict a win by the Miners today. Miners 74-Memphis 69

Coach Floyd may have sparked the team to a winning streak. The recent national attention and a coach with enough guts to protect his players do make a difference.
Tim has his team's back 100% and I think they'll pull it off for him.

How is this a down year for Memphis, and didn't we beat you last year at your place on NATIONAL TELEVISION?

What exactly did Coach Johnson do to get ejected from the ECU game? Like everyone else, I've seen the video and see how the ref lost it and (perhaps justifiably) T'd Coach Floyd, but I have yet to hear anything other than "Johnson was also ejected." Are there any reporters anymore who can actually report?

I predict that both Universitys will continue to be part of a worthless conferance and that neither will win a NCAA Championship any time soon. Good thing UTEP already has one and is the only Texas team to ever do so. Also too bad that it was called Texas Western and not UTEP when they won it.

Nice one, I get enough grief without someone trying to imitate me. Next time use your own screen name to make a point. Thanks because "imitation is the highest form of flattery". As for the game, I believe the Miners will be fired up but with the crowd and national TV they are going to have to keep their emotions under control. This game will come down to the wire. Bubba

Let's see... Destroy UTEP on national television? What channel would that be on, doooshbag? The station I watched had a UTEP team that annihilated some junior-high team from Tennessee today. Is THAT the best the Tiggers could do, TiggerDave? Why not just stay home next time? No need to come back to El Paso for that NEXT azz-whuppin' in the tourney. Really. Now, STFU!

Just curious, Bozo, but what is YOUR team doing today? Tomorrow? Next week? Being the doormat of their conference. Ours took a couple of days off, to allow the other teams in the conference the opportunity a chance to get a taste of winning. If UTEP plays in the Tourney like they did today, they won't be waiting around for a bid to the dance. The Aggies?'Nuff said.
