I agree with you UNCFAN. At this point in the season i think rankings are a complete waste-and a guess (except in kansas's case-they are awesome). It really doesn't mean squat what the rankings are, with everyone just a game or two into the season. Ky is way too inexperienced at this point to know what they will do. Although loaded heavily with talent, we do have high hopes to be back on track towards the end of the season. Only time will tell. Good luck to your Tarheels as well!

Yeah who knows right now. With all the young talent the cats have, have to believe they or at least a top twenty team. And maybe by Feb.if everything goes right, they could even be a top five team. But one thing for sure, this is going to be the most exciting season we've had in a long time.GO BIG BLUE.

Kelly-I am a UK fan, but I wish nothing but the best for memphis. I have pulled for Memphis every year UK has not been in it. It seems a shame some fans (such as yourself) can't be for your team, without being a hater. I can guarantee you, that we are as glad to have Cal at UK, as you are to have him gone from Memphis, and come tournament time-i hope you choke on it. Everyone (including you) is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how wrong it is.:-)
Seeya in March,(or not). I've already got my name on two tickets to the final four in Indy. have you got yours yet? I doubt it. If Cal were still at memphis, you'd be behind him 100% so get over yourself, i doubt he cares what you think.
He's welcome here and he knows it.
Nassau, I too used to root for Kentucky as I have great friends who live in Bardstown, KY. What I am rooting AGAINST is Coach Cal-unfortunately Kentucky hired him. As a HUGE Memphis fan (alumni)I feel VERY betrayed by this man. We have (on TV video) this man stating he would not go anywhere else, that the Memphis fans are used to rumors about other schools wanting him and that he would not leave Memphis. This was Friday and on Monday he was announcing his resignation. When asked by the same reporter at the press conference in Kentucky why he would say such a thing and abruptly do a complete 180- he stated and I quote- "I said that?? I don't remember saying that!" He is a liar, a cheat and has absolutely no morals. He is the ONLY coach in NCAA history to be asked to vacate two Final Four apperances. Your right, when he was here he was very muched loved and all I can say to that is we were bamboozled by this shyster. You have been warned-so when he f**ks you guys royally and then goes on his merry way-we'll be sayin' "told ya so!"

No, you won't need to say i told you so, because if something comes up better for Cal and he thinks it's in the best interest of his family-i won't blame him for going. Absolutely no morals huh? What about the foundation he set up in Memphis for kids-and he still supports? He could have pulled the plug when he left when he left, but he didn't. Is the city of memphis better off than when he came? Look at all he did there. He gave a good chunk of his life there, and still says he had no problem coming to KY, the problem he had was leaving Memphis. he loved it there. He still says that. He repeated it again just last week on a local post- game radio show he does here. yeah, he's a real a-hole. You wanna talk about betrayal? How about Pitino leaving UK THEN COMING BACK TO lOUISVILLE! That would be like a Duke coach leaving and going to NC. But we got over it, and if Uk is out of the tournament and Louisville is still in it-i'm pulling for Louisville. If you have never lived in Ky, then you could not possibly understand how big basketball is here and you never will. The man did what he thought was best for himself and his family, and nobody should be bitter about it. I certainly don't let anyone else decide for me, what is best for me and my family. But guess what-it's still just a friggin ball game. Get over yourself and go to Kroger and get some fresh grapes- those sour ones are making your face pucker. Cal is welcome here and our state is already better because of it, so if he left tomorrow-we were glad he was here.

Memphis is like KY football. Nothing more than a stepping stone. SEC Vs CUSA? Basketball crazy school and hoops town against The home of Elvis? Horse country VS Bar-b-Q country? 35 mil vs whatever he was making there? One of the greatest programs in the history of college basketball against? well? Memphis? Yeah i think Calipari did all right for himself

Guess what guys? I have changed my mind (as a woman it is my prerogative). If Cal had not done what he did would would not have the WONDERFUL Josh Pastner. Everyone including the fans and players just LOVE him! After our last home game on the post game radio show several of our players compared Cal and Josh. They all feel like a negative energy has left the building and a postive breath of fresh air has entered. They explained that last year if they made a mistake they were jerked from the game, cussed at and belittled. Coach Josh is just the opposite. He uses positive reinforcement and the players (and fans) really appreciate it. I watched Kentucky get their butt kicked by Miami Ohio and almost lose and then got to watch my TIGERS hang tough with the number ONE ranked Kansas. Also Josh has excellent recruiting skills and next year we have a top recruiting class. Cal always overlooked the local talent but Josh knows Memphis has great talent right here in our own back yard. My attitude has changed and I thank Coach Cal because our TIGERS are a lot better than anyone expected and that is directly related to Coach Josh. And he is HOT!

Nassau, I want to apologize for my rude comments. I am a very passionate tiger fan and all I can say is that I felt like a woman scorned. I'm sorry I directed my comments to the Kentucky fans when they should have been directed to Coach Cal. It's kinda like having your husband cheat on you and leave you for a younger more beautiful woman. I want to apologize to you and all Kentucky fans that may have been offended by my comments. Can't say I'll root for Kentucky(lol) but I hope you enjoy the basketball season. Best wishes and hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Kelly, apology accepted. And for what it's worth (and dont tell anybody) but i was pulling for Memphis last night. I watched the entire game. The Tigers looked awesome! and they almost pulled it off. You, no doubt, will have a very exciting season this year.
I hope ours is too, but we have a long way to go. I'm going to see the Cats play tomorrow night, and they better play better than they did against Miami or S.Houston will take it. I was impressed that they could come back from being 18 down, but dis-appointed that they got down that far to begin with. From watching Memphis last nite, i wouldn't want the Cats to play them right now!
I have tickets to the final four (i got lucky on the NCAA ticket lottery), and wouldn't mind at all seeing the Tigers there. You have a great holiday season as well.
