Being a USM fan, I was shocked by the type of pre-game taunting coming from UTEP students and fans. UTEP fans & students actually booed during the post-game awards ceremonies. If that's El Paso class, I recommend C-USA do what the city's name implies, pass.

"We just didn't know what to expect," Memphis fan Rickey Dugger said. "But we loved it here. The hospitality has been so good.- Just try living here Rickey; you're second class is your name isn't Luis or Pablo.

Unfortunately, you're right the big problem is the lower class of students will go to UTEP because the SAT's are about as difficult as a 9th grade final anywhere else in the country. The older MINER fans are'nt like that it's just the young, drunk and stupid that are allowed in now. Don Haskins would'nt have put up with that type of behavior in the past.

But really aside from the games, what is there for those visitors to do here?

1. They can eat at Chicos tacos or any of the taco places here.

2. They can go to one of the new Juarez narco-clubs here.

3. They can take pictures of Mt Franklin before the developers finish carving it up and destroying it. Do some hiking before the hiking trails are all covered with cheap housing subdivisions.

I agree with you about that. I hope that C-USA doesn't come back to Hell Paso for a very long time. The behavior that was displayed after the game by those in attendance was appauling.

Have any of you guys been to a sporting event before? It doesn't change much anywhere you go. You don't really go to a game to brush up on your manners. You have nothing to be ashamed about El Paso, keep rooting on your Miners

I'm an idiot? The majority of incoming students can't pass a tenth grade test, pick one: English, History, Science, Math and they have the manners of a bunch of children that were never taught respect by their parents. One might guess they are mostly from juarez. So don't call me names when the truth hurts.

I wasn't there but it certainly sounds classless to boo when the other team is getting their deserved props for winning a tournament. There is a BIG difference between rooting for your team and being a poor sport and booing the other when they've won. Poor, poor sportsmanship. I'm glad my Tigers won, but I also think it is a shame that people would boo them for doing so. UTEP was awesome today and is a fantastic team that deserves an NCAA bid. That said, from the outside looking in, it is a huge turnoff that their fans behave in such an immature manner.

More and more sporting events here are looking like soccer games with badly behaving fans.
