I've been saying this exact same thing for almost a year. Rusty is the real deal, so is FAU and as soon as people realise this the easier it will be for them to accept when FAU embarasses their team.

MORE TERRIFIC WORK BY TED HUTTON!!--NEITHER BECK NOR MCCOWN ARE THE LONG TERM ANSWER TO THE DOLPHIN'S QB DILEMMA.--AND PENNINGTON IS 32 YEARS OLD WITH SO-SO PASSING STRENGTH..
I TRULY BELIEVE RUSTY SMITH WILL TOP HIS 2007 NUMBERS IN 2008.--40 TOUCHDOWN PASSES, FEWER THAN 10 PICKS--YES, THAT'S DOABLE.--AND, IN 2009, HE WILL BE FAU'S FIRST LEGITIMATE HEISMAN TROPHY CANDIDATE!!
HEY, PARCELLS, ARE YOU WATCHING THIS KID DEVELOP RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSE???--THE PATRIOTS ARE QUITE FAMILIAR WITH RUSTY SMITH!!--HOPEFULLY, THE DOLPHINS ARE, TOO!!

ANSWER?--ANYBODY WHO KNOWS FOOTBALL!!--EVEN THE CURRENT BEAT-UP OWLS TEAM COULD BEAT THE 'CANES THIS YEAR!--HERE'S HOPING FAU AND MIAMI MEET IN A BOWL GAME AND SETTLE THIS ON THE FIELD!--UNTIL THEN, THE ONLY THING THIS CROP OF 'CANES WILL LEAD FAU IN IS THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS ARRESTED!!

Coach Schnellenberger began his Carerr at Alabama, where he recruited a young man named Joe Namath....not just Jim Kelley, and Vinny! This man knows talent! We should pay attention!!!

Kid looks good vs SunBelt Competition

Would be shocked if he is higher than a 6th round pick..

Beating Memphis in their Bowl Game,
.

Memphis was an average conference USA team last year..

Hope they are not laughed at in Austin.

Coach may eccentric at this point, but he still knows what he is doing. His old school style still works. Also, thank you 'Canes fans for your typical sour attitude. Maybe you will have a winning season this year, or maybe your coach will even be back next year with your team (if not, Howard will hire him). If I'm bored, I can count the empty seats at your home games.

FAU football may be getting better but the school sucks in part of it. Too many things that other 90% of students (non-athletes)need at the school are lacking because of huge budget and teacher cuts, yet the sports get the #1 priority. Why pour so much money into sports for a communter school? Enrollment is down, there are no frat houses, no one cares whether they win games, people go to FAU because of its location, not the teams.

Wow. Now if this kid can only pass protect, recieve, run, pressure the opposing quarterback, return kick-offs, and pass defend, then FAU might make a BCS bowl game.

Yeah, the only problem is those jobs are hard to come by. Kenny Kelly, Frank Costa, Rusty Medeiras, Alonzo Highsmith, the Ericksons, James Stewart, Ryan Collins, Carlos Huerta, Scott Covington, Ryan Clement, Brock Berlin, Eddie Brown, Lamar Thomas already work there. I hear there are openings for people to detail Ray Lewis' car though, maybe that will work out for Kevin Beard and Todd Sievers.

I like Rusty Smith and I think he could be first round talent. As the article stated, playing in that pro-style offense would just better prepare him for the league. Sometimes I think we forget that just because you are a first rounder doesn't mean you instantly dominate the league. I see him as a late first round pick. Personally, I think Tim Tebow and Armanti Edwards(forget about 1-AA, if App Sate had a larger student population they would be 1-A) are the best two qb's in college. But Rusty Smith is a good qb. And I do believe FAU can go to a bcs bowl they have a lot of "hidden gems" on their squad. Especially with Polo leading that secondary.
